I didn't think they'd fire him this year just based on where he is in his contract but this team is lost. TXST is in bad shape but not this bad.

Maybe UMass beats App next week and is just really good.

Coastal handled Umass easily. I don't think that's the case.

keep Summers and save some money until 2018. What would be different from firing Summers? same players, same staff, same morale

If we do lose to UMASS I hope we pull a Ark St and just win all of our conference games.....

Generally 2 years may not seem enough time but this is such an epic failure. We are 5-13 in Summers tenure so far. We won first 3 games last year and are 2-13 since. That is unacceptable. Summers won t be back next year

We gave up 55 points, here...

Just to put that in perspective, here's the games where we give up as much or more.
1. A bad 4-7 team against a national championship Florida gators team.
2. A bad 6-5 team against a Miami hurricanes team that lost in the national championship game
3. The national championship against UMass where we turned the ball over 7 times and basically were playing walk-ons at linebacker.

This UMass team would struggle to make the playoffs in any power FCS conference. This is not the "FBS catching up to us" (whatever the heck that means), it's beyond-dismal coaching. We just keep sinking to new lows.

Don't fire Summers until 10 November 2017.

the game after they fire Summers, that will be a trap game for the opponent. Southern players will be motivated for that one game. Could be either App or Georgia State. Then go 1-11.

my gut says they might fire Summers before the Georgia State game....return the favor when Georgia State beat Georgia Southern after Trent Miles was fired last year.

No point in keeping him any longer. Dude doesn't have a clue how to win.

Honestly, it won't make a difference. Even if there's someone on the staff who can turn things around, it's not going to happen in a few weeks.

I'll admit I didn't think GS would lose this one. I'm in shock a bit at the final score. I do know they are gonna be a tough game when we come down there.

Ga Southern should be looking for a new coach Monday. There is no reason they should be this bad. :(

We're better than VMI for sure, probably Chatty too. The rest would be a toss up or loss.

We'd go 4-4 at best in the SoCon.
