The best freshman on the team, for sure. I think Hall is the best with Carter not being far behind. By the time his career here is over I have no doubt he'll go down as one of our better defensive players.

I don't think I've ever seen somebody play awful and fantastic in the same game until Carter tonight.

I did notice lots of arm tackling attempts that went for long gains...I suspect the short week hurt both teams defense.

Austin Hall is the best defensive player but TJ Carter is a helluva player. One is a sophomore and the other a freshman, that's the best part.

Hall is smart and disciplined...

But from what I saw yesterday he doesn't appear to be very fast or he was loafing on some plays.

Yep - lots of defensive talent right there. But the real star last night was the Memphis passing game. Outstanding.
