No, not at all. I don't remember all the particulars, but I do remember that it doesn't always mean the job market is actually that strong.

You may be thinking about the labor participation rate. If that drops, it's a sign that the labor market is weak and could result in the unemployment rate also decreasing. Unemployment claims dropping could be one of 2 things: 1) a job is found or 2) the benefits run out. It's great if it's 1, bad if it's 2.

Not any more. As the below labor particpation rate chart shows, people gave up looking for work under Obama. People are now actively l ooking for wok and getting employed under Trump.
