uh, this "news" was discussed last week, doh.

As to why we are there in the first place I believe this was a response to increased concerns about terrorist activities on the dark continent. The middle east isn't as fertile as it once was and the concern is that going forward Africa will become the premier breeding grounds for new terrorists from groups like ISIS, Boko Haram and al Qaeda. We have a presence in almost every African country and have maintained small elements there for years with the uptick in troops in places like Niger occurring more recently.

The only reason I brought up Hillary is because that is who Trump ran against. The choice was Trump or slime dripping Hillary.

There are certainly things Trump has done that I'm not keen on, yet I would still choose him over Hillary in a heartbeat today....
