Quote:Providence is slotted for fourth place. The Friars made their fourth straight NCAA appearance last March and finished with a 20-13 overall record and a 10-8 BIG LEAST mark. The senior duo of forward Rodney Bullock and guard Kyron Cartwright is PC’s foundation. Bullock averaged a team-leading 15.7 points and 6.4 rebounds. Cartwright averaged 11.4 points and a league-leading 6.7 assists. He was named BIG LEAST Most Improved Player. Guard Jalen Lindsey averaged 10.7 points and 4.3 boards.

This game is circled with a fat permanent marker...

Don't break my heart please.

I almost hope UConn loses to read whatever hot takes you can concoct over a meaningless exhibition game.

I appreciate the sentiment. Just win the game please.

There are greater stakes than mere message board troll fodder. To my knowledge, the AAC has rarely faced off against the Big Pee. That's by design. It's important to make a statement. The old Big East flagship needs to get up for this game and quiet the chirpy little Catholics down. If the AAC is supposed to get 4-5 bids this year where do you think they will come from? That's right... the Big Pee. They're not coming from any of the other power conferences.

It is cute seeing Wichita fans make demands on UConn as if UConn is beneath them. UConn has won the most national titles of any team in the past 20 years (both men and women).

Win a national championship before you act like you own this conference. Better yet, win four before you attempt to address us as equals.

We're definitely not equals as you'll soon find out. Just win the damned game and help your conference (us) out... "flagship".

We have won plenty of games (and a national title) for the AAC. You all haven't even played a single game in the league yet. Judging by what you expect of other AAC schools this year, AAC fans should consider anything less than winning a national title by Wichita State a failure for this conference. Anyway, until proven otherwise, UConn is your daddy.

You know this is an exhibition and will have no bearing on how many bids your conference gets right?

You're new around here aren't ya? I suspect being a Rutger's fan you'd have little knowledge about the bias that goes into the selection process - especially for bubble teams. I'll give you a pass! 03-shhhh

The funny thing is that Rutgers played more AAC games that Wichita. Bias or not exhibition games have no bearing on selection of march madness teams. No one can or will bring up the game no matter how it goes.

Rutgers would have competed for the Missouri Valley Cupcake Conference title most years.

I'm still trying to figure out how Providence is UCONN's "Super Bowl". It's not and never will be.

Our "Super Bowl" is the NCAA Tournament Final...something Wichita State knows nothing about.

I've seen multiple instances in this thread of feigned indifference. It's a defense mechanism when one is not emotionally equipped to handle the reality of a probable and painful outcome.

I say face this battle head on - like men - and win the game. Only after you win can you chirp at me about how meaningless it was. But don't emotionally quit on the outcome before it's even decided. Get your face painted, drink your pre-game beverages, and prepare to will your team to victory. If you lose to Providence... well... let's just not talk about.

You lost me at the face painting.
1) Playing Providence isn't worthy of a face paint
2) If you are older than 25, then painting your face is ridiculous

I suggest that Wichita State fans focus on having their own team contribute something of meaning to the conference this season versus demanding something from UConn.

We all need to contribute to the conference. Neither Wichita St. nor UCONN can afford to perform the way they did last year in OOC. That being said, this exhibition game won't change much. I would, however, thoroughly enjoy watching UCONN beat Providence. BTW, is this going to be on TV?

Should be interesting...

You better beat their fking asses and I'm deadly serious...

Make no mistake, this is your Super Bowl - if only to save a little dignity until you can regroup.

The "great" UCONN getting slapped around by Providence would be more than I can stomach.

The implications of this match with respect to the Big East breakup, the trajectory of the Big Pee vs. the AAC... this is serious man. I will not forgive you if you **** the bed.

You be sure and remind Providence of that on 10/25 before the tip and get back to me on how it works out for ya.

Based on the feedback I've received in this thread I'm fairly certain of the outcome of the game already and I think that's just sad.

I don't make a habit of visiting opponents' message boards but desperate times require desperate measures.

"I" have decided to mail it in? Dude, I don't suit up. Methinks that some Shocker fans are delusional enough to think that when their team wins a game that they somehow had a hand in it and that it makes them a "winner". I, however, don't need my team to validate my life. I support UConn win or lose. I prefer that they win, but if they don't, it doesn't really take away from my sense of self.
