South Carolina has a BYE as well, it'll have to wait until Week 9 (Vandy)

RE: Teams looking to become Bowl Eligible Week 8
I believe Stanford also has a bye this week. That means a total of 18 teams could become eligible. If all of them were to do so, that would bring the total eligible to teams to 31, compared with 20 at the same point last season.

There are also 8 teams who could become ineligible this week, two of whom (BYU and ECU) play each other. So 7 could draw the short straw. If they all lose, that would bring the total of ineligible schools to 12, compared with only 3 last year.

So, combined, if all the teams that could know their bowl fate actually do, they would total 43, compared with only 23 after week 8 last year. With more schools at the extremes, I'm not sure what that means for filling all the bowl slots with 6 or more win teams this year.

Rutgers takes another step towards bowl eligibility this week with a win over Purdue. I might be at that game. After that wins over Maryland and Indiana get them to 5 and 7. All they need then is an upset over one of Michigan, Penn State, and Michigan State to get to 6&6. Since Michigan and Penn State are away I'll go with the upset over Michigan State at home in the final game of the season for a 6&6 season and a bowl win during the holidays to begin the turn around at Rutgers this year. 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 04-rock 04-rock 03-shhhh 03-shhhh 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 04-jawdrop 07-coffee3 04-cheers

South Carolina finishes out with wins over Vandy, Florida, and Wofford - and at least one upset over Georgia or Clemson. Hopefully they upset Clemson the last game of the season. I'll be in Columbia for that one this year. Rimshot 01-donnankungfu 04-jawdrop 01-ncaabbs 04-rock 04-bow 07-coffee3 04-cheers

South Carolina has basically been a non-threat as long as their current players have been in the program, as crazy as it sounds they may come in overlooking us and the atmosphere in Williams Brice. If that ends up being a night game I think it helps our chances tremendously.

I see a Missouri-Kansas renewal in the Cotton Bowl. Call it payback for Jerry Jones screwing St Louis out of the Rams. They should have the required six wins (between them. lol)05-stirthepot

Ohio is up 41-3 after putting up 28 points in the 3rd quarter...

I think it's safe to say the Bobcats will be bowl eligible here pretty soon...
