I really do feel for you UCF. In all sincerity. This is the place everyone looks for a coach if you are a traditional power or upper-level P5 program. The P6 moniker ain't gonna save your coach.

It pisses me off. Everyone, except for Niamatalolo, is with a coach that has been at the school 3 years or less. This is ridiculous. Houston - Herman, UCF - Frost, USF - Taggart, Memphis - Fuente, UConn - Diaco (but for good reason), Tulane - Fritz (he gone soon too), Tulsa - Montgomery (would have been gone if they didn't suck. I'm bitter, okay!), ECU - dead man walking, Temple - Rhule, SMU - Morris is gonna be gone this year to aTm, Cincy - Tubbs (for really damn good reason).

This much turnover is terrible for a conference.

We can't rise to the top if they keep skimming off the cream!

Name all the AAC coaches poached?
Name all the Houston HC coaches and assistants poached and where they went. It's a long list.

UCF wins a game big and instead hearing praise on this team it's over 50% comments or articles on what job he is taking by December 1st. It partially kills the enjoyment on what might become a special season.

It wasn't just Houston.

Coach Willie T was going to get a big job...it was just a matter of time. Oregon firing Halperin was sort of a surprise but it was the 'big' job of the cycle. IMO, I think he would have stayed for one more year if not for that job....but this year its completely different. There could be at least 5 or 6 SEC jobs up available. Throw in Texas A&M, UCLA and there are some bigtime jobs that will cause a chain reaction and drive up salaries. This doesn't even consider the 2-3 jobs that unexpectedly open up due to retirements, scandal or leaving for the NFL....see Stanford job.

The worst part of losing coaches?

Your chances of hiring well every single time is slim to none. We did super well after Dimel by hiring Briles (basically a high school coaching legend), Sumlin, and Herman but we flunked with Levine and are sputtering with Appledandy.

We went from putting 55,000 in NRG last year vs. Oklahoma and having the entire city watching the Coogs (most to win, some hoping we'd lose but all watching) to we'll have the smallest crowd since Levine tomorrow night while hosting a top 25 team. The bottom can fall out quickly.

I would be surprised if CCS leaves USF after one year.

Nebraska missed its opportunity to hire Frost. Just as several Power 5 teams did. They are building something special at @UCF_Football https://t.co/9PbnE5dpHs

Followed by:
$$ will not be the biggest factor with him. And thats one of the reasons he’s going to be successful.

That sounds...familiar. I sincerely hope it turns out to be true.

Houston (and possibly Cincinnati) have been the hardest hit going back even before the formation of the AAC. Both have lost at least three coaches to BCS/P5 schools over the last 10 - 12 years.

And we literally had to deal with both other scenarios...multiple interviews in off-seasons (BK with Tennessee, UCLA, etc. and BJ with Colorado, Purdue, and Arizona St.) as well as knowing our coach was gone for the better part of an undefeated run once ND was nosediving. I don't wish it on anyone...

Yep. That put massive dents in our recruiting as well In the yeas those guys stayed other coaches used it to sway recruits from signing here and when those guys eventually left, the new guy always had to start from scratch only about 6 weeks to create a new class.

The only difference from us to Cincy & Memphis, & USF is we aren't losing our coaches to just any teams. We are losing them to the teams right within our state which amplifies the loss. They kicked us out 20 years ago and now steal our coaches. The positive is Baylor is bad again, A&M will be firing Sumlin soon and I can already see a world in which Herman is not the God everyone made him out to be.

But we are stuck with MA :(

Good point.

Same would be felt for UCF if Frost jumped to UF or if Strong left his school in another year to go back to UF too.

It is a double whammy to UH since those schools (Baylor, UT and A&M) basically didn't let them join the Big 12 when SWC dissolved.

Yep. Our last 3 successful coaches went to Waco, College Station, and Austin. All 3 of those schools left us for dead with the SWC implosion and 2 of them just kicked us in the huevos with the Big 12 fiasco. One of them is an hour away. Another two. And the furthest 3. They dirty recruit and bad mouth our "little league" brand of football as well. And now, we've got a Longhorn destroying us from within.

I hate everything.

But hey, we did upset Cincinnati in women's soccer!

P5 openings will likely include Tennessee, A&M, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Missouri, Arizona State, UCLA, Washington State, possibly Arkansas, possibly LSU, possibly Miss State (if a bigger program snags Mullen).

I don't know that any bowl eligible AAC team aside from Navy will be able to retain their coach this offseason.
