I was wrapping up my Christmas shopping today and ran into a buddy of mine who sits in the same section as me at Turchin. We got to talking about the upcoming baseball season and he told me he heard that J.R. Crowel is injured and it isn't minor. He said he heard it from a guy who used to coach one of the other guys on the team (I'm leaving names out on purpose).

My friend is not a rumor mongering type and neither do I want to be. But this could all be nothing which I hope it is for JR's sake as well as the team. I just wondered if any of you guys had heard anything about it.

I haven't heard anything and I speak to several baseball players on a weekly basis. So, if he is injured, it is recent and it is hush-hush. Lets all hope he's OK, as deep as we are on the hill it would still be a big loss. Fingers are crossed.

Spoke to somebody today specifically about JR. He has been experiencing some "tenderness" in his throwing shoulder. It is not expected to keep him out of the lineup. In other words, it is something he is just gonna have to play through.

Glad to hear it's not major. I look forward to watching him pitch this season. Thanks for following up and posting.
