We got a QB tonight. Keon Howard took it down the field twice to try and win/tie. Parks was almost the goat. I like our chances down the stretch.

Great and very lucky comeback win but S. Miss is not winning CUSA with that QB. Just be happy that Tech's young QB couldn't throw the ball through a barn door from 10 feet tonight.

S. Miss's defense came up huge, late and in OT, add to that a ton of luck...

that's what won this game
never say never my friend....and to you EVERY team is "lucky" except WKU!04-cheers

Where did I say Western never wins by luck? It took a few gifts to pull out a win over ODU.

I will say this in a conference full of schools with very limited offenses. You are right...never say never. But if that happens S. Miss will have to play lights out defense and need most if not all of the breaks to go their way.

Don't know what the odds were for S. Miss to win this game down 11 with about 1:30 to play and getting ready to kick a 45 or was it 49? yard fg. But I would guess 99.5% to lose.

At that point S. Miss's odds of winning CUSA was probably lower than 99.5%. So you are right...never say never.

At this point with any other qb I would give S. Miss better than 70% to come out of the West. With him a 50%. But I don't think you win the conference with him.

But hell this conference is so weak...Western still has a chance to win the east. So who in the hell knows.

Yes, WKU does have a chance. About 10%.

Isn't that true for any team that wins a championship?

You do realize that QB of ours is only a True Sophomore. He's only got 6 career starts. And he's 3-3 in those contest. Those 3 wins have came in the last 3 games. In those 6 games he's thrown 8 Touchdowns and 8 Interceptions. I am not saying he's great, but I don't think he's horrible for having such limited experience.

Keon sucks! We should be a much improved team when Griggs comes back later in the year.

A lot of USM fans decided not to make the trip once it was announced our quarterback was still injured and would not play. It was an accepted fact that Keon could not handle the job. Had they decided to go it would have helped improve what was an embarasingly low attendance.

Not always no. The 2015 WKU team was 88th in the nation in total defense but with a prolific offense you can often overcome a sub-par defense.
