MT concerns me greatly. We never play well there and they somewhat have their backs against the wall.

I wouldn't worry. I know our home field advantage can seem scary with our tens of fans, but you have a good shot at keeping up with not allowing a TD in CUSA play.

You will probably finally beat us. If we are 5-6 when we play (maybe, maybe not) ... I'm not saying I hope we lose, but 6-6 means another AUTOMATIC extension for Stockstill. We are stuck with him forever LOL

He has to win 7 to trigger.

Okay, good. We probably won't get that many.

Doesn't matter. He got an 8-year deal so 7 after no automatic rollover is still better than the 5-year deal Massaro and McPhee bumped to 8 years in 2015 in exchange for about $300,000 in salary increases. Stock and I will both be 66 in 2024 when his contract expires. You think he's got any sense of urgency to fix this mess?

Not bad when you are already making $725,000 a year (partly thanks to Memphis chasing him in 2009) Shoot, $5.7 million guaranteed in exchange for no raise for 3 years? Where do I sign up?

I told you guys this would happen. I told you, I told you... I told you.

I'll be in Murfreesboro on Friday night and a few of my MT buddies and I are bringing paper bags with us just in case for national TV.

I understand the lack of class in constantly pimping your school but the pollyanish attitude of some of these MTSU fans here is feeling a bit disingenuous to me. I think they are expecting everyone to overlook them so they can surprise a team or two. Sorry, but after our butt-whipping in Murfreesboro a couple weeks back, this kind of commentary is wearing a bit thin.

I must agree with you on this one. And by the time we play them they'll have little Stock back and even with all the mediocreness that Big Stock possesses his son will take our 12 year old coach to the woodshed.

Hardly, as long as Urzua is QB. Look at the numbers I posted in the other thread.

His success against y'all was an anomaly and only because your defensive line was too weak to put pressure on him. If he has all day to throw he can be good. But as soon as you breath on him he panics and starts throwing up prayers.

That's a coaching issue. It can be fixed. I maintain that he could be a serviceable QB for you guys.

Yet we shut down Tulane that hung 60+ on Tulsa....hmmm. The game is much more complicated than how you describe it; week to week and half to half the entire outlook of the season can change. The MTSU performance against FIU could very well have boiled down to match-ups, coaching and player improvement; but guess what, your next opponent sees this and then make adjustments. It's your coaches job to stay ahead of this curve and over the history of your coaches tenure he seems to have done a pretty good job at this.

So as a real fan please add a bit more depth to your comments...or don't bother.

I agree, from what I saw Saturday. He's not that mobile but threw well and showed some real toughness. The safety's on the LT, who was holding on every play but must have been afraid to do it in the end zone, letting our guy blow right past. #11 is a really good back; #3 needs to spend more time on his own game and leave yelling at the refs to the coaches.

No doubt. Same thing I said Saturday. The offensive game planning and play calling hasn't changed yet the current QB doesn't have the same skillset as the previous one. It's completely illogical.

That said it's primarily because we can't run the ball against a defense that is semi competent. This is really where the coaching issue comes in. How we have an O-Line that can't block 12 years into a coaches tenure is absurd and unacceptable.

Go watch the film of the UAB game and compare their defensive line to what yours did in our game with you. Night and day. We couldn't block UAB's defensive line. Urzua was barely touched during the FIU game. It's not complicated. Simple fact requires simple analysis. We couldn't block UAB but could FIU. What other reason is there to explain this other than your DL is weaker than UAB's?

You want to compare MT financial support from '05-'14, smartass? I earned an MBA from MT in '05 and immediately began donating until Stockstill hired Tommy West.

I'll be there Friday night.

You don't know me but I have a pretty good idea the players won't care what anyone does after they leave the tunnel and see the crowd. If we do this, it will be directed at the leadership who created this mess.
