Rest of our home slate in Jeopardy?
While these fields drain well they are not designed to stretch and now like that schools have had to replace fields due to severe flooding before.

Are we really talk about this because of a really bad rain? Is the drainage system a joke? Jesus.

RE: Rest of our home slate in Jeopardy?
Problem is that some years ago WMU lowered the field at Waldo. With the exceptionally hard rain today, a lot water was draining in through the visiting teams tunnel from the small parking area there, and contributed significantly to flooding of the field.

It's not just Waldo. A lot of local streets have flooded also.

The bubbling effect we saw is not normal. You are kidding yourself if you don’t think there are anxious people in our athletic department tonight.

I seem to remember that the stadium was built where a creek once ran. IOW, a natural drainage. This isn't the first time this issue has popped up since the field was lowered.

04-chairshot04-chairshot Do a little research on the city, the stadium and the logistics. To blame this on the facilites people is just plain stupid. It was a perfect storm of events that happened. Having lived here in Kalamazoo for 70 years I can tell you I have never seen anything close to what we got today. Good chance we will have to make other arrangements for the rest of our home games baring a miracle. Maybe Grand Valley ? This will not be an easy fix. There are several artifical H.S. Fields with in a short distance but none with much seating. Maybe Eastern could use some money if the schedule had them away on a date we had a home game.

Our field is currently under several feet of standing water. The depth has risen to halfway up the
Wall.

Don’t be shocked if we get a cancellation notice

And...it ain't over yet! Couple more hours of really, really heavy stuff on deck. I've seen standing water in places around town that I've never seen and I've lived around here for almost 40 years. Hope things work out facilities wise.

WWMT-TV's meteorologist said she expects these conditions to continue through the 1:00 game time tomorrow. The rain has been coming down at a rate of 1.08" per hour.

Even if they put 10 pumps on it and it stopped raining..going to be a
layer of mud on that thing too.

Radar shows severe weather moving into Kzoo in minutes. This storm stretches to Chicago. Then another storm behind that from Oklahoma to Illinois. Doubt this field will be in any shape for a game this week Hoping everyone out there is safe without damage to property

Was told that if Waldo is still flooded tomorrow, the game will be played at Kalamazoo College.
