Buffalo position grades
Had to go back and watch the game, didn’t get a chance to see much of it live.

Yuck...a W is the only positive takeaway.

QB-C-

You can see some talent there but he’s just nowhere close to being the guy that gives us the best shot to win. Blake has to be the most frustrated guy on the planet. He ran behind the D 3 times. The play action slant should have been an easy TD and he threw it behind him. The most frustrating thing was watching their true frosh make some tough throws.

A couple of flashes. The throw to Wimann was great. The Beebe post was solid. He did run hard, and he did give us the W so I can’t justify anything lower than C-.

RB-B

Thought Mister and Harbison did a nice job. Ran hard. Good to see Huff get back in the game. Mister gets a pass on the fumble...that was a shot.

WR-B+

This group stepped up. Can’t fault them for under-thrown balls. Brown was huge on jet sweeps, had a great game.

OL-B

There was time and some sustained run game. Much better than last week.

DL-A

Agaisnt a very solid OL, they got pressure and made the plays they needed to. The Buff running game was non-existent.

Seriously...Sutton Smith is an all-American.

LB-B

Johnson int was huge. Jones was solid. MLB by committee.

DB-C+

Finally got a matchup with some big wr’s and a respectable passing game and you saw them all get beat...the 50/50 balls vs Embry and Smalls stick out. Safety by committee. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a group rotate that much. Buirge and Abresch even got action.

ST-D

If not for Ference, stone cold F.

Coaching-D-

F just seems cruel in a win, but my goodness. Carey is winning games in spite of himself. This QB situation is almost embarrassing. Would anybody be surprised at all to see us roll out Graham next week? Your guess is as good as mine.

I think it has to be Santa. The SDSU game proved that. The offense moves best with him in there. Yes he’s not the runner, yes he’s turnover prone. But I feel like the entire playbook is open with him. It’s not gimmicky. He can make all the throws to move the sticks on third and long and of course he can hit the home run ball...which this offense needs. You can’t try and rely on run, jet sweep, designed rollout, Pa, run, run, jet sweep..and sustain 15 play drives agaisnt better teams. You gotta be able to hit a home run once in a while to keep the D stretched out. I think we win this one going away with Santa at the helm.

Unfortunately I think Carey will stick with Childers. Childers does have talent, but needs work. Missing wide open receivers on sure touchdown routes.......

It’s definitely Childers. No brainer and he’s a freshman. Santa is a pro style who throws picks, i.e. tanner lee.

I justs remember last week it didn't even look like Santa was capable of gaining one first down and then Childers promptly drove down the field

Can't disagree with any of this. We are going to have a tough time running the ball against anyone when the other team knows we have no deep game whatsoever. They will happily let us try throwing bombs resulting in incompletions 95% of the time. No reason to double-cover any of the WRs.

I thought Childers did a good job yesterday, he was limited more by the offensive play-calling. Santa just regressed so bad the last week, he looked so lost. It looked tough for him to even the grip the ball. It was night and day when Childers stepped in, offense started moving.

lol, MD...Santa threw one pass the week before...come on now.

Did the limited play-calling cause Chliders to fumble at their 5 yard line?
