I happened to be in Desha County this weekend, and ate lunch in a Subway there. I asked the ladies who worked there if they knew of the Jones brothers who played for Desha Central in eastern Arkansas. As it turned out, they said that Caldwell's granddaughter plays basketball locally and is very good, and if I got it right, his daughter works there.

If I remember correctly, Caldwell (6-11) and Major Jones (6-8) were on the same team at Desha Central. Both of them played several years in the NBA (as did two others of their brothers). That had to have been one of the better high school teams in Arkansas history, even if it was at the lowest classification.

Some enterprising journalist ought to do a feature article on the family.
