Noticed they're referred to as the Monarchs, not Lady Monarchs. Heard the new coach wanted to drop "Lady" from the team name.

I like the decision.

UT did this and got major blowback. Think the change lasted 2 years. They're going back to Lady Vols this year. Not sure why people were so adamant as one name seems more unified. But they were.

There was a time we were like the Lady Vols, but sadly that time has passed. I doubt there are enough fans left that would care enough to make much of a ruckus. I'd like to drop the "Lady" too. They're just a shell of what they once were, and you can get a lot more for your money in advertising, branding your spaces etc with one name, and as fans... apparel. One name serves it all. I'm for it.

Well that seems about right for the times ..... Girls can now join the Boy Scouts, but don't take the "Lady" from the Lady Volunteers name.

Saw the team photo on Facebook, yesterday. I knew we were not going to have a lot of players this year, but the visual was alarming. Only 11 players and I feel like there may be a transfer or two in there that won't be eligible to play this year. It's going to be a lean year. Pray for no injuries.

9 scholarship players and 2 walk-ons (Edwards & Harden). All are eligible to play this season.

It looks like Coach McCray is getting it done for next year. This year may be pretty lean.
