They used to do this, even within the past few years. Not sure why it isn't being done this year.

I've been asking the same question for a long time. I don't get it. While many, many things have continued to improve over the years on gamedays at Waldo, I think the public address aspects has stagnated or even declined in some respects (specifically player identification!).

Not announcing scores though -- yeah, does suck. I guess they figure "check your cell phones", but Geezus... it's not like there's a ton of better stuff they just Have to announce instead.

Getting back on topic, at the last home game (BSU) they did flash some scores on the video board at halftime. First time this year. Great to see some scores, but the downside was that they never showed the first half statistics during the break.

Agreed that an occasional update would be nice, especially to hear crowd reaction to the more "interesting" scores. But with everyone carrying a smartphone, score announcements just aren't as necessary anymore.
