If you think Pitino is gonna hang by himself you are dreaming. Ish is about to get real.

I'll believe it when I see it. The fact that the FBI is refusing to disclose anything is troubling to say the least.

Haha, you are troubled by them not disclosing info during an active investigation? That is troubling.

Kansas is screwed big time and the Lawsons are going to be front and center, and you better believe that dad is going to sing like a bird in exchange for the younger kids not being ineligible. Dedric will turn pro and head to Europe and KJ will do whatever.

Let's put it another way. I don't trust the FBI period. They disclosed the info on Louisville. Why not with Kansas ?

They made 10 arrests. FBI had to disclose info to justify the charges.

This is a non-story from a Kansas blog. A delayed FOIA request. Will probably have a lot of those as this story plays out for the next couple of years.

You compare an active investigation where they are gathering information with an investigation after arrests have been made? Seriously?

Same for UK. And don't tell me it's all due to Calipari's "magnetic" personality.

Coach K was arrogant when the 1 and done movement started and felt he could win without them...Heck I remember him going off after one of his guys decided to leave after one year. He has since changed his tune.

Calipari just has the name now...He is like the pied piper for the NBA

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how the FBIs response makes this any more troubling for Kansas than it was yesterday before this broke. Yesterday Kansas was a high profile Adidas school who recruited elite recruits - which puts them at risk. Nothing has been added to that ---

The FBI basically stated that they do have information relating to Kansas that could reasonably interfere with their criminal investigation if released.

It matters what the FBI defines as "reasonable". Many people say it could be anything, but that really doesn't make much sense to me.

That's not how I read this. Its just that there's an *ongoing* criminal investigation and Kansas's name has come up --- which could be something as simple as their contract and contacts with Adidas --- or it could be something more. You really can't add more than that from the FBIs response as I see it. We'll see.

How?

Verno pointed out that all of the top players that have come out of Kansas recently are Adidas guys....Wiggins, Embiid, McLemore and Kelly Oubre. Probably not a coincidence.

If Kansas is an Adidas school and if Kansas has recruited the high profile players implicated elsewhere - than its perfectly reasonable to look at Kansas. Its also perfectly reasonable to look at all other schools situated like Kansas. But we knew all that before this letter. It doesn't mean in itself that they've found something criminal - or it could. IMO it really adds nothing.

In other words Kansas has probably had contact with the known 'bad actors' in all of this.

There is zero chance that Kansas wasn't doing the same thing that the other big Adidas schools were doing.

But the FBI still has to prove it. Notice we don't have Bill Self making any blanket denials? Because Self doesn't know what the FBI knows yet. Expect a lot of "we haven't been informed" and "we are cooperating" in Kansas' future.

Self has no reason to say anything.

There is some truth to that. However, if the ante for a 5-star at Louisville is $100k for one year...then I imagine UK still has to call the hand to get at least some of those 5 guys they get every year.
