I will never understand how people who follow mainstream sports in America are so insecure about soccer. The NFL, NBA, and their college equivalents aren't in any danger from soccer, guys.

And it is 100% insecurity, not apathy, because people care enough to type how much they "don't care about it".

Soccer just sucks man... it's a failed design. Savages authored the sport under the constraints that they were... umm... savages. They slapped each other with sticks for a while and after that got boring they just started kicking a coconut around a big field while people tried to steal it. The greatest advancement in the sport of soccer has been the feigned injury. It's absolutely high comedy.











Soccer is a quintessential waste of time unless you were born into the sport... in a jungle of course.

I will say that it is an excellent source of exercise which is why it's the first place you drop off the little one on a Saturday morning. And it's 100% snowflake proof because nobody cares who wins in a soccer game. Double bonus!!

Oh crap, the US women didn't make the world cup?!?

I do watch Orlando City when there is nothing else going on. That said the mls isn't a real sport. Orlando will send their best players to play on national teams during the middle of the season. It is like Tom Brady playing in the Canadian league for a few weeks. Oh and leaving with a 0-0 tie is pure awesomeness.

Baseball, basketball, and football were high-tech games designed by the most advanced civilization in the world. They've stood the test of time.

You wouldn't be wrong if you said that hockey smells a bit like soccer but I give it a pass because it's played by REAL men at an extremely fast pace. It also has a high cost of entry so you won't be seeing a hockey match break out on ESPN between Ethiopia and Grenada any time soon.

Rugby, the forefather of football also gets a pass as it was developed in England and is certainly played by real men at great personal cost.
