Did you just hijack an LGBT holiday to make a political attack? I thought this was going to be a genuine celebration thread but oh well.

1) Refused to publicly condemn or even criticize (much less punish) Russia, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, and Egypt as they murder and jail LGBT persons for the crime of existing. Concentration camps for Gay persons? No problem, according to Trump and his SecState.

2) Supported a license to discriminate against every LGBT person, including support for the denial of health care access for LGBT persons.

3) Appointment of advocates of jailing Gay persons in the USA to prominent positions including the AG, and Federal Judges.

4) Trying to throw all Transpersons out of the military without consultation with their military leaders. Our first responders and military are to be venerated by Trumpers, so long as they're white, cisgendered, straight, etc. The rationale Trump used was that it was too expensive, but of course the military has spent millions more training those soldiers and the medical costs are less than Trump has spent on his golf trips or that the military has spent on viagara since he took office.

5) Blocked visas for persons fleeing literal death camps

6) Removed a Gay flag from the Natl Park Service's Stonewall monument (how friggin' petty can you be?). Meanwhile Confederate flags fly on Federal Property.

7) Voted in opposition to the death penalty for being Gay. No alternative resolution was proposed condemning and punishing nations that criminalize being Gay

8) On Friday, Trump will speak at (and implicitly endorse) a vicious hate group at a meeting in DC.

-----

Now on the not so genocidal/awful side.....Trump did appoint two rich Gay men to meaningless positions (neither have been confirmed and neither will be able to do anything pro-Gay in those positions). And he didn't remove existing non-discrimination protections for Federal workers (which is pointless since he's refusing to appoint any real amount of LGBT persons to anything). Meanwhile, anti-Gay homophobes are being appointed left and right to positions specifically for the purpose of harming LGBT persons.

---

Trump is a vicious hater of LGBT persons who runs an administration seeking to harm the LGBT community.

----

If there's a rational for anyone who doesn't hate the LGBT community to support Trump, I can't find it.

Huh. I thought you'd be in one of those FEMA internment camps by now.

So do you think that people who campaign and have campaigned for the criminalization of people for the crime of being LGBT should be appointed to office?

I mean seriously, the Attorney General supports throwing us all into jail camps. No idea for how long.

How long should we be put in prison for the crime of being Gay.

I'm probably one of the very few LGBT people they haven't run off yet.

What do LGBT people have to celebrate today in Trump's America?

Not really interested in watching a video from Kylie Minogue today. Maybe I could run down to the Stonewall Inn for a celebration....oh wait...Trump decided to cancel that last night.

I can't believe you aren't already in an internment camp or prison. Have you gone underground to elude the authorities.....you know, the Gaystapo?

Again, how long should I be thrown in prison for being Gay? Trump's AG thinks I should be, and Trump has no issue with literal concentration camps for LGBT persons, so I'm just taking the Trump Admin at its word.

You are free to rebut my assertions about Trump and his AG (and many others). But you don't do.

The concentration camps are a fact. Not run by FEMA, but by Trump's BFF (Putin).

RE: Today is Coming Out Day
I'm grossed out by a large majority of the posts in this thread.

So I'm hijacking the OP to say this:

I am proud of all my friends, relatives, and community members who had the courage to come out in the past. I am proud of all those that will take the scary leap in the days that come. Happy coming out day! I have a lot of love for the LGBTQIA community.

Actually straight persons are welcome to support our community's goals of inclusion and non-discrimination.

You're welcome to try to argue how Trump and his supporters have helped those goals. But then you'd probably have to support non-discrimination and inclusion for the LGBT community. From the language in your previous comment, I'd be surprised if you did.

Serious question regarding transgender: isn't there still discussion as to whether this is a psychological issue?

What's sad though is that to this day there are posters on this board who openly advocate for the removal of some of the things you've listed above from LGBT persons.

...what?!?

We are finally coming to point of societal acceptance, where people can just be who they are. On YT you can see a diverse group of people (including those evil conservatives you run on about) discuss their life stories free from persecution. Things have gotten better, and they will continue to get better.

This is a day of happiness and understanding. This isn't about our President.

Yes, unfortunately. But the reality is those are not real concerns for today's American LGBTQ community.

The right to get married on Sunday and then fired on Monday and thrown out of your home on Tuesday. And now. the right to get denied all healthcare in Mississippi because you're married.

The right to a job? Trump has been in the process of supporting discrimination against LGBT persons with his removal of support for non-discrimination last week. He wants to take pretty much all federal funding for education, health care, and social work and funnel that funding to agencies that don't hire LGBT persons or don't pay them equal wages.

Worry about being stoned or thrown off a building? How is Trump's refusal to oppose the death penalty for being Gay helpful in that regard? How is Trump/Tillerson's refusal to even criticize nations that ramp up deaths and jailings of LGBT persons helpful? Exactly how is Trump protecting us from anything, including Islamic violence? He's not.

Actually, those Obama era gains are under attack by the Trump administration. The opposition of the LGBT community to Trump is also very much POLICY based.

Not being thrown off rooftops. Not being tossed in jail. Not being set on fire. Not being shot in the head. Not being beheaded.

You should count yourself fortunate to be in the US.

As I tell my daughter, the Countries priorities first, then the groups. Health care and taxes are paid by everyone and needed by everyone. National security and jobs are needed by everyone. It's the foundation for everything else that follows.
I guess some argue Health care doesn't belong in that group but certainly access does.
