WMU vs BGSU
Must be nobody else on the board at the hockey game. At end of two Broncos are up 2-1. Which is surprising as we're being outshot 24-19. Lots of penalties all around. Broncos look tired - or BGsu is just faster. Hope we've got something left in the tank for period 3.

Well, let’s see, Broncos just finished a home and home against a very physical Ferris team and bugs has just played two exhibition games, so yeah I would say it’s safe to say the boys are tired. A win is a win and apparently bugs is supposed to contend for the WCHA title this year, so it looks like we beat a decent team.

Doesn’t get any easier this weekend as we host #15 clarkson for a pair. A sweep would be huge and prolly put us back in the top 20. Would be nice to get some revenge as they dominated us when we played up there two years ago, although we only won 8 total games that year.

The other good news is that the broncos are home for a majority of the first half of the season so a good chance to get some quality wins. Really hope that the city of kalamazoo gets to lawson and supports this team. So many people don’t realize that we play in the top conference in NCAA hockey and we get to host Denver, North Dakota, Duluth and yet the only game that will be packed (non student section) will be Sparty...such a shame

What's the score???

3-1 final, Conrad netted an empty netter with about a minute left to seal the deal.

Well done, Broncos! Every win is like a sweet kiss from your main squeeze in HS!

Clarkson is a very good team we will be lucky to split . They have very good goal tending and are well structured, plus they beat Penn st and michigan last weekend. The boys tonight look a little bit like they did the second game against Ferris is not a state. The line combinations are not clicking and we are quite scrambly at times . Blacker is holding the fort nicely but Andy needs to put players together that compliment each other instead of thinking he has to balance lines all the time . We have two more weekends of non conference hockey before reality hits : NCHC and Denver is first on the list.

Do you really want to be depressed by attendance? Go to a Kalamazoo Wings game... 2,000 would be a good day.

Kalamazoo is a lazy sports town. The only football game that has sold out recently is the State game at Waldo... outside of that, not even close. It kills me. I could go further... WMU basketball can’t fill a 5,000 seat arena, yet in the 75-76 season I sat in the nosebleed seats at Read Fieldhouse while over 10,000 were cheering on our basketball team. Those days are gone.

Kalamazoo Hockey fans realize the ECHL is a watered down A level league. When the AHL expanded coast to coast it took the top ECHL players with it to fill in the new franchises. WMU hockey would beat the K Wings, the top WMU players bypass that league and go AHL if they are decent NHL draft picks or Europe where they make six figures. I wouldn't call Kalamazoo lazy, for the size of this community we have a lot of sports options. Is Grand Rapids with three times population drawing 20,000-24,000 for college football? 2500+ for college soccer, 2500- 3000 for college hockey? The Carolina Hurricane had 7500 for a NHL game last night, actual number of people in stands was less than 3000. It isn't a Kalamazoo problem, too many options these days for entertainment.

FWIW the UT game last year was PACKED, had more energy, and more Bronco fans then Sparty.

I'd say the UT game was/is my favorite memory at Waldo Stadium and I've been going since I was a kid.

Also that 75-76 basketball team was crazy good. You don't think going 25-3 overall helps?
