The offense is close
Coming off the field at halftime CC said that the offense is close. I hope that he was just trying to be positive because the offense sure doesn't seem close to me.
We don't know who the RB should be. Vann looks like he's gained weight and slowed down. Erickson is reliable, but not elusive.
Dropped passes are hurting, seemingly way more than last year.
Too much use of sideline pattern throws. I noticed that against Ohio and it continues.
Aristilde, our fastest and tallest receiver, mostly sits on the bench.
We're not close.

i agree. i don't care what CC says to us....he probably should be positive and say that. i hope (and assume) that he's being much more direct with the rest of the coaching staff and with the players.
i'm confused about Aristilde too. i was optimistic about him this season.

......and biggest question, what about Turner? When he has gotten a chance he looks like the best back we have. His lack of reps makes zero sense.
Aristilde put himself in the doghouse again a couple weeks back, with the suspension, 100% on him. This week, his very first catch, he fumbled, and they just sat him down. Tough situation for the coaches with him.
Could/should be an all MAC player, but can't seem to get out of his own way.

The playcalling except for the trick plays is too conservative. Open it up. Maximize use of Roback's skills. Would help to open up the run game, which is last in FBS.

Unbelievable attitude for a proven talent that has somehow been forgotten. Especially with Vann struggling a bit, and Banham out. Still 7 games to go, still time to have a similar stat total as last season, if he can manage 8-10 carries a game.
On the other hand, with this OLine/Run game struggling as it is, might just be time to let Roback air it out and limit the RB carries even more. What we're currently doing is obviously not working since we're averaging 19 points per game.

Anything less than double-digit touches for Turner is awful. The only back that should get more touches than him is Vann. I'm glad that he's patient with his playing time (good find with the article, TheWoodenNickle), but to me he's the most talented RB we've got. This isn't to say I've lost trust in Shaq. I don't doubt that he can pick it back up, given the OL improves.
