Neither have really proven themselves on the field as a HC just yet:

Bill Clark
2014 6-6, 4-4
2017 3-2, 1-1

Frank Wilson
2016 6-7, 5-3, lost the New Mexico Bowl
2017 3-1, 0-1

I think an AD may see that they have potential but then again neither have shown they can win and win and then win again.

I like both of them but looking at it as a IA AD would I just don't know if anyone is willing to pull the trigger on either just yet.
Oh, I agree. That's why I started that with, "No one looks to be having that good of a season." Then I just threw out two names that are considered up and coming coaches. UNT's coach could've been listed as well. I guess LTech has the only coach with sustained success, but there is no sign of him taking that next step that might get him serious looks from high resource schools.

I wonder what they have on Anderson to get him to walk away from that much money? Is living in Oregon that bad?

I don't think it means anything other than the parties agreed not to go through lengthy litigation. It was in all likelihood settled for a fixed sum with both parties waiving their contractual rights in agreement for the payment.

This. My guess would be somewhere around $5 million.

Ole Miss - Hugh Freeze (July 21)
UTEP - Sean Kugler (Oct 1)
Oregon St - Gary Anderson (Oct 9)

Can Bielema at Arkansas last much longer? I think he is in year 5 and has not delivered big yet.

The university announced Monday that the parties have mutually parted ways and agreed to release each other from the remaining contractual obligations. Andersen was under contract through the 2021 season.

Andersen signed a contract extension in December and had more than $12.4 million remaining on the deal. Oregon State owed him $883,332 for the rest of this season, $2.75 million for 2018, $2.85 million for 2019, $2.95 million for 2020 and $3.05 million for 2021.

I wonder what they have on Anderson to get him to walk away from that much money? Is living in Oregon that bad?

Interesting take here:

Tuesday, The Oregonian/OregonLive released several text messages exchanged between Andersen and one of its reporters over the past six weeks that provided some perspective on the former coach's decision.

Andersen began to openly criticize his assistants before Oregon State's loss to Minnesota on Sept. 9.

IF FAU finishes strong I could see Kiffin heading back west to coach Oregon St. I wouldn't even rule out him taking a somewhat lateral move and taking the ECU job if it opens up.

Why would he take a job at ECU, they have absolutely 0 IA talent on that roster right now. ECUs 2 wins were over a 1 win UConn squad and a 1 win BYU squad. BYUs only win this year is against an 0-7 Portland State team.

Kiffin or Jones can get where they want without heading to ECU or Tulsa for that matter from right where they are.
