04-cheers

Well the Republicans did have Ben Carson, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.... Well there was Jeb Bush married to the Mexican immigrant Columba and Donald Trump married to the Slovenian immigrant Melania.

On the governments teat.
Term limits? As long as we are dumb enough to re-elect these old people, I have no problem with it. I never underestimate people's stupidity. We get what we deserve. Besides, her bulb seems brighter than the dim bulb in the white house. 05-stirthepot

Exactly, I met a 91 year old man last week who was sharper than most people I know half his age. A very close friend of mine - who is more of a mentor to me than anyone I've known - is a 78 year old semi-retired attorney/farmer who will run intellectual circles around most people. Hell, he's about to put the finishing touches on a 6 million dollar distillery in the one of the most southwestern towns in KY. I've had the pleasure of being in attendance at several meetings he's had with master distillers from other distilleries who want to become involved in his project, these people thought they had a hayseed by the tail and soon discovered it was a tiger instead. Don't ever discount someone who is old, they usually got that way for good reason.

#termlimits after '18 (wishful thinking)

12 years for senators
8 years for president
8 years for representatives

Needs to happen NOW.

The only way it's ever going to happen is for the states to call a constitutional convention. The bastards in DC will never pass legislation that cuts their own throats.

I'll admit, I don't know all the inner workings.....but if that's what is req'd, if there's one guy that will push those 'buttons', it's DJT!

A constitutional convention has to be called in one of two ways, congress has to advance a constitutional amendment and pass it by a 2/3rds majority and the states have to approve it by a 3/4 majority, or 38 states. Or the states have the ability to petition congress for an article 5 convention whereby 2/3rds of states compel congress to call for a convention but there have to be specific amendments proposed so that the convention does not exceed the scope for what it was originally intended. If the call for a convention meets the 2/3rds requirement any amendment that exceeds the original scope must be passed by 3/4 of the states. The latter has never happened.

I think that's about the gist of it, at least as I understand it. My older brother is actively involved in an Article V convention effort and has been for some time so it's a slow moving process that faces a lot of opposition.
