No, of course not. His statement was pretty similar to Trump's statement after Las Vegas. Obama did briefly (very briefly) talk about gun control, but it was just one paragraph. Which is one more paragraph than Trump mentioned.

Ostensibly to support Peyton Manning since his jersey was being retired. But media members were told in advance there was a chance he wouldn't be there for the whole game and weren't allowed to talk to him.

At least Pence stayed for most of the Super Bowl last year in Houston.

This was a PR stunt. The 49ers had kneeled for every game this year. So the White House knew they would do it again today and I guess the White House felt it was okay to spend a million dollars of taxpayers money (at least) to make a meaningless statement.
