that it's Oct. 8th and we have no more Saturday home games left for the season. I knew before the season started that's how it was but it just really hit home this morning.

Welcome to the MAC!! My season tickets are really collecting dust this year. Season's over for me as far as attending games.

Hurts extra more considering yesterday happened to be such terrible weather, I'm going to make the Thursday home game work, need another day.

Perhaps we will see you in Detroit if we are fortunate and talented enough to win the West.

We made one game with our season tickets. That number isn't going to change the rest of the season either.

Just to clarify, this is a MAC issue, (defintely) not the preference of NIU.

It’s not just a MAC issue... pac12 is complaining about kickoff time not day but a similar issue. And Herbie is here to assure them that they should be thanking ESPN

RE: It just really hit me....
It is sad. I made the the home opener against BC and would make a few more if the games were on Saturday.
Last year's game against the Turds in Chicago was a travesty; I wanted to make a long weekend out of that game, but it wasn't going to happen on a Thursday night. There'd have been at least 20K if it had been on a Saturday afternoon.

I am an NIU FB TV and internet fan, like the vast majority (who are under-represented) on this board.
The future of NIU FB might well be TV and more specifically with the new generation , most likely the internet.
Hopefully Television revenue will grow greatly and generate far more money than ticket sales.
National TV audiences for NIU and the rest of the MAC, may have advantages for namebrand and possibly recruiting.

Of course, if you're out of town you'd be a big fan of TV and internet. Those of us who live locally would rather go to the games.
TV revenue will not grow greatly. Even if it increases, it will never replace the fans and their donations that are lost for good.

As being one of the Internetters (is that a word?) I can say it is nice to be able to watch the Huskies on ESPN3 and other channels when it happens. Living in Oregon means traveling to any games that are remotely close. (SDSU although we gave that game away, was a fun trip)
I will be making a trip to NIU next year as well as the Iowa game. I think Iowa is first, then NIU is home against Utah.(My wife's Alma mater)
On TV, the weather looked bad, but not awful. is that the state of football fans at NIU, or was it the weather.
I remember going to games in the late 80s early 90s when it was freezing. Anyway, as much as I would love to see the home games in person, its not possible.
