RE: The Block
There has been discussion as to whether the ball was blocked at or beyond the line of scrimmage or behind the line of scrimmage...

RE: The Block
Don't know how many people where their to see it, but it was a loud proud crowd. Stacy and Noble players of the game. And Brown and the entire team of the blazers and coaches and family and the people who are persistant. With out the catch from Mr. Noble the game would not of carried on. I cried all night with Giddy, carry on. The Team is polished already and early. Watch out for Nashville, they like to sing and put on a good game, Middle will be tougher then tough. Welcome them to the Alabama Theater in downtown Birmingham we got some song left in us. Coca Ca Bana this thing and get out like a ref at the end of the game. Good thing for Legion and that Castle In Highlands let em know.

You mean Murfreesboro.

Predictably, that represents a lot of the responses (to the original pic of this thread) I’ve seen on social media

If you look at that pic without knowing the seating patterns, it is a fair question.

Most fans know that this is the side no one sits on. Unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't, and the perception is UAB pulled a remarkable play in front of an empty stadium. We know that is untrue, but UAB needs to do something about that perception.

i agree...when i see highlights from other teams with empty stands, i wonder "is that the empty side?"---but im well aware that most people dont. even with this perspective, my first thought is usually "man, look how empty."

its a battle we'll always fight in legion field. i dont know how to fix (or at least help) it. one approach is to say that perception doesnt matter, and then point to attendance figures (where we lead the conference). while i think that is a reasonable(ish) approach, i think that an active and intelligent athletic department can come up with a better solution.

Yea, your right Murfreesboro, (45 min outside of Nashville) was their when (was a manager on the team) that Back from Oklahoma (Running Back) and his twin brother fumbled going in for a touchdown. Should of been the Game. None the less their out of Nashville.

I seem to recall from a few years ago someone saying that the A/V hookups at Legion Field are all on the home side so the visitorr's side is predominately shown. Don't know how acccurate or relevant that is nowadays with wireless and other communications technological advances.

RE: The Block
When we blocked the kick, that may have the loudest I've ever heard Legion Field at one of our games. Hearing the crowd on that video is fantastic.

Agreed. That officiating crew was already on thin ice with UAB faithful as it was. Had they thrown a flag on this and it'd given LT another crack at that FG, and they make it and win...???? The ugliness that would have ensued ...

RE: The Block
Saw on twitter (so give it the weight you think it deserves), but apparently if a kick is blocked beyond the line of scrimmage, an offensive player may not advance it, meaning the game was over when the kicker caught it.

So, there would have been no flag for players running onto the field. Game over...I give that plenty of weight...
