Post Game
Several things I still can't digest regarding Saturday. Two particular I can't continue holding in.
1.) Ito had 13 carries; that's 3 per quarter. How does your most productive asset get limited to 13 carries? What's going on here?

2.) 3 man rush on North Texas QB most of the night dropping 8 into coverage. QB sat comfortably in the pocket picking us apart. The few times pressure applied resulted in incomplete pass, sack, or turnover. Although 8 dropped back into coverage receivers still burned our DB's.

As mentioned, there are more questions than answers regarding Saturday's loss. It's easy being a Monday morning QB BUT, I'd really like to know WTF our bonehead coaches were thinking regarding items listed above. Ito especially makes me wonder. Is there something we do not have knowledge of or is Dawson truly this incompetent? Ito should be getting 23-25 carries per game, minimum.

RE: Post Game
We weren't just rushing 3. They started Max protecting with 7 blockers and picking up our blitzes. They killed our DBs with double moves. Guyton is the real deal. As for Ito not getting enough carries, that's a head scratcher. Should have had more. But I've generally been pleased with Dawson overall.

We weren't just rushing 3? You and I didn't see the same thing. Majority of the time only three were rushing.

Eagle9, I don't know which game you were watching, but all the highlights that were NOT in our favor was 3 man rushes..and that was it.

fify

MORE ITO!

not having JA on the field is also a huge issue....

KG still doesn't have a full grasp of the available options and runs too often....

regarding the D.....completely agree....that game reminded me when UL beat our arse in coverage D when they last visited the rock.....it's pick your poison w/o pressure.....

Dawson isn't as good as HE thinks he is.
He got into a habit of throwing a long 50/50 ball on first down, running up the middle for 2-3 yards on second down putting the offense in 3rd and long. He did that for most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Went back and watched the C-USA highlight video of our game on YouTube. Watched about 8 of NTs offensive highlights. Only saw 1 play where we rushed 3. 2 more where we rushed 4. The rest we brought 5 or more. We are probably one of the most blitz heavy defenses in the country.

Mullens made Dawson look good last year. He's not a horrible OC but he's no Monken.

He'll be gone for the first decent job that comes along.

Sadly, we have a bush league coaching staff. Can't make any adjustments on-the-fly.

Something that keeps jumping out is the center's snaps. They are slow, low snaps and results in Griggs having to bullet the ball on quick slants and none of our receivers can catch it.

Getting our money's worth out of the coaches. Get what you pay for. Decline in conference dollars required decline in salaries. Not that they deserve more but, for college coaches they are making peanuts.

We're not even in the upper half of Crap-USA... I mean, that's REALLY pathetic. Sad, sad, sad, to watch this program peter out like we have.

It really is sad to see the program sliding into starvation. Champagne taste on Busch budget.

I saw that too. Defensive lines are 1/4 to 1/2 of the way into the backfield before Griggs gets the ball from center. Bad on-the-fly coaching

But I'll always love our cheerleaders and Dixie Darlin's, peter OUT or peter IN. 04-cheers

Can confirm. Have stuck my peter in both a cheerleader & a Dixie Dumplin. The early 90's were fun. Ended up marrying the cheerleader, still sticking my peter in her too.
