That's it! It's the band's fault. Seriously though, they need something they can finish quickly instead of fading out as the next play starts. Something to ramp up the crowd noise and then let the crowd take over.

It could be a lot of things, but it does not have to be a "song".
I can't find a good video of it, but this is what Carolina basketball teams come out onto the court to. It is the lead in to "Here Comes Carolina".
It starts slow and then speeds up just before the song starts (it's the first 7 seconds of this video). The slower part was cut off, but it's that intro part that I suggest as one option. It's a rhythmic thing that will get people clapping before the yelling hits it's peak at the snap of the ball.
This is just one suggestion that I think would be better than what we do now. But there are likely many more out there.
