RE: Tech @ UAB
Went to the game this weekend and had a pleasant time outside of the result. UAB fans were nice and thanked us for coming. It was my first time to ever visit Legion Field and I'd heard nothing but bad things. I thought surely it couldn't be that bad. Well it's really that bad. It reminded me a lot of a much crappier and older Independence Bowl in the same kind of neighborhood. Y'all gotta get out of Legion Field, UAB deserves way better than that.

Glad you made the trip. Yeah it's no secret our stadium situation sucks. We're leading the league in attendance, but still have to deal with ignorant bama fans shouting us down about no one going to the games because when they see us on TV or see a picture it's of the away side of the stadium. Even had some bama fans on twitter alleging that UAB artificially added crowd noise to the video of the blocked kick. It's tough to get people to understand that the fans we have on just the home side of the field would fill most CUSA stadiums. And that's just discussing the size of Legion, let alone it's age and location.

Getting a new, appropriately sized on campus stadium or downtown stadium would do wonders for our program.

Hope you got to spend some time in Birmingham outside of the Legion Field area.

Thank you The Tech fans that came. All I encountered were nice and hope they had a good time except the outcome. Now you see what we are up against. Had a solid crowd but was still swallowed up by that pile of rusted metal we play in. That crowd would have looked great in a stadium yall's size.

Example:

We out draw prograns that have a capacity of 30k and less and sone are complimented on attendance and we are trashed.

Perception is reality I guess.
