Agree. An already sordid process is coming into the spotlight, and GP thinks he's got something to contribute to the news. Bless his heart....

We need to create situations where players have to compete for available scholarships. It would help to have more than one guy with keen recruiting skills on the staff.
I anxiously await Harris’s decision. Adding him and Woodard to Connor makes a strong class, IMO.

Yep
You definitely can't cry "disrespect" or "just didn't sit right" when your son has been the number 1 priority for over a year.
How much "love" needs to be shown? Show all the love you've got and then they admittedly "fell back"
Unfortunately, the only ones looking bad will be Lomax's parents.
I hate it because I like Lomax.

Lomax will end up at a good school and will do fine. It’s a shame, though, if he truly wanted to be a Tiger that he would end up elsewhere because of parental jockeying.

Funny how it's disrespect when Memphis started recruiting someone else, but when Lomax started checking into other schools it was called "exploring all options".

Correct. Especially when you consider that Lomax is guaranteed of landing at a good school, while Memphis is not guaranteed to land to high-level PG. Memphis has the most to lose by waiting and can't afford to do so.

The timing is the most telling. After saying all summer they were saving their officials and probably wouldn't take one to Memphis since they're already so familiar with us. We go hard after Harris, get the home visit, schedule Harris's official. Then Lomax all of a sudden wants the official. And he wants it now - and before Harris. Had we scheduled that, Harris could very well have backed out. Then Lomax has all the leverage again. It's obvious.

Sounds almost as if Lomax and Harris don't like the other much.

Didn't saul say tubby doesn't do that? If a guy doesn't commit they move on to the next guy, right?
Which is why Lomax now wants to schedule an official. Right?

Reply hazy. Try again .
Maybe one of our staff members said first come first serve.
I mean we ain't got no commit from Harris either now.
And Madness is not going to be very alluring.

One thing I'm looking forward to this year is no more daddys interfering with the running of the program. Maybe Lomax, Sr. would choose to fade from the limelight if his son were to sign with the Tigers, but somehow that's not the feeling I get from reading his own words. And with all the trouble Tubby had with that issue his first year, I'm thinking Harris' tournament performance isn't the only reason he's passing Lomax on the recruiting ladder. Maybe hearing Sr. talking about Tubby's offer not sitting well with him brought up some bad memories. I wish the kid well, but I hope Harris commits first.

I agree. The only point guard worth dealing with "daddy headaches" from would be a Derrick Rose or John Wall level player. Program changers.

But what about the 'threats' made by Harris' uncle to KE?
I mean there seems to be helicopter adults around any player of talent these days.
