A lot of people wonder why we should listen to comedians. I mean they shouldn't be taken seriously right?

But comedians are experts of taking our everyday lives and pointing out the ridiculous. Most of the time they make a joke of it and we realize how silly we can be. But sometimes they point out the silliness and it isn't so funny.

It isn't funny that under this administration, it is now easier for the mentally ill to get weapons.

It isn't funny that under this administration, people who are on no fly lists can still purchase guns.

It's absolutely ridiculous. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Maybe it's time we listen to our comedians.

I would like to challenge the use of "we."

YOU can listen to comedians and have them help guide your news and opinions, as my guess is that they almost uniformily reinforce your worldview

Iwill not be listening to comedians. They do not believe the same things I do and making light of my beliefs without fair dialogue is not something I take lightly.

YOU don't have to listen to comedians if you don't want to. That doesn't mean however that they aren't making sense.

They aren't making sense. At all.

They're just telling you what you want to hear, which incidentally isn't the whole truth.

Explain how thats true. Comedians can be funny and are often excellent at pointing out how flawed we are. That said, while they are generally great at pointing out flaws---comedians aren't much on suggesting good alternatives.

It's not that comedians shouldn't voice their opinions, it's just predictable. Sports, comedy, TV shows, are all involving politics. Americans are split down the middle Conservative/Liberal so there's going to be blowback from biased jokes and reporting.

Comedians and writers don't understand the details of a situation, they say lazy buzz words to get cheap laughs and applause.

Comedians (in some cases actors playing comedians) playing talk show hosts playing news men reading democratic talking points from a teleprompter.

Why shouldn't we listen? Because their opinions do not necessarily over ride my opinion. They can opine all they want, I don't have to listen...and I don't.

Most are idiot Libturds and they hold no power over anyone to push their agenda.

A comedian's job is to take a situation and make light of it... They intentionally go after your emotional side.

I do not want someone's emotions being the deciding factor in what should/shouldn't be done. I may not like the choice my brain decides when all the facts are laid out in front of me, but if that's what is for the best.. the brain decides, not the heart.

There is a process that has been in place since the late 1960's to restrict the rights of the mentally ill to possess firearms. The proposal forwarded by the Obama administration violated both the Second and Fifth amendment rights of people.
