YOU can listen to comedians and have them help guide your news and opinions, as my guess is that they almost uniformily reinforce your worldview

Iwill not be listening to comedians. They do not believe the same things I do and making light of my beliefs without fair dialogue is not something I take lightly.

YOU don't have to listen to comedians if you don't want to. That doesn't mean however that they aren't making sense.

Just because you listen to them doesn't mean they are. They really don't make any sense and aren't funny.

But comedians are experts of taking our everyday lives and pointing out the ridiculous. Most of the time they make a joke of it and we realize how silly we can be. But sometimes they point out the silliness and it isn't so funny.

It isn't funny that under this administration, it is now easier for the mentally ill to get weapons.

It isn't funny that under this administration, people who are on no fly lists can still purchase guns.

It's absolutely ridiculous. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Maybe it's time we listen to our comedians.

We don't have any. Just a bunch of arrogant jerks who think they are funny.

Now Richard Pryor-that was funny. He could make social commentary without appearing to be a know-it-all arrogant, hateful, bigoted ___ like the late night talk show hosts.

Kimmel is no Richard Pryor. I'm not trying to compare him to a legend.

I'm simply saying comedians usually have a different perspective that we may not have considered.

Why are some people so stubborn ( conservative) that they continuously throw the baby out with the bath water?

Be open minded to change.

Tell that to the current batch of "comedians."

Pryor and George Carlin (for most of his career) could make anyone laugh. George was very far left.

Spewing close-minded hatred every night of groups and people who aren't like you simply isn't funny.

Wait what? Carlin was not far left. If anything, he was a libertarian.

He was definitely far left. Now being far left doesn't mean you can't have a strong libertarian streak. (maybe today being far left tends to mean you are a fascist, but that wasn't true even 5 years ago, let alone back when Carlin was still alive).

I never think of Jimmy Kimmel as a comedian. I always thought of him as a former game show host of Win Ben Stein's money.

there's a difference between leftists and anti-establishment....carlin was the latter and an oxymoron....that's why he was funny.....

it was sad to watch his cynicism in the end years.....he was easily one of my faves pointing out the obvious....

Honestly the only good reason I see for watching any of the late night comedians at this point is to get a heads-up to what leftist talking point we are going to face in here the next day.

RE: Why we should listen to comedians
I don't watch late night couch shows, but I do like listening to comedians when they aren't on stage. They've operated in a world where they were the opposite of entitled and they've often seen some real stuff in these dank clubs.

Listen to a few podcasts and you see that they can see the absurdity of a lot of viewpoints. They'll challenge your views more than your favorite newsman.

i'm actually surprised there are funny comedians. i swear i've seen a few. how the hell is kevin hart funny? from the one clip i've seen, you can tell he's got no talent. is he like the tyler perry of comedians? i've never seen a tyler perry film and never will unless nomad points me in the right direction

i feel most comedians would be apolitical. if you occasionally want to get political, why limit yourself to whom you can mock? comedy is open season on everything

The fact that a certain late night comedian's attitude boils down to "if you don't agree with me, then you have a hand in that murder"... It has nothing to do with the mans profession, it's his "my position is the only morally tenable position" crap...

He pulled it on health care, now he's pulling it on guns.

That's why I don't listen to or watch him anymore.
