Best place to buy Bearcats gear "Cheap"
Where is the best place to buy UC stuff? I went into Rally House today to buy some new UC shirts for myself and family, and couldn't justify spending $30 on a toddler shirt. Seems like everything at the games are overpriced too. I live in KY, but willing to trek across the bridge to get gear if that's what I need to do. I've struck out with online shopping too.

For kids stuff, I always go with Meijer. I used to live in KY, and you can't find much at Meijer's down there, so head to Cincinnati. I've personally had the best luck at the one off Rybolt way up 74, but that's a haul for you.

The quality isn't the best, so I don't buy my stuff there - but for kids that grow out of things so quick, I think it's perfect.

Places like the Outlet Mall might have some marked down college apparel. It is sometimes a crapshoot of who you will find, but the Outlet mall close to me in Columbus often has last years designs for Ohio State. I am guessing the ones north of Westchester may have UC gear.

I have also found Khols to have a lot of marked down sports stuff here in town, but being in Columbus it is mostly Ohio's pro teams, and OSU. I bet the Khols in Cincinnati would have UC gear though.

Yep, Meijer's and Kohl's typically have a lot of Bearcat merchandise and their stores are side by side @ I-74 and the Harrison/Rybolt exit. In terms of savings, probably well worth the drive.

Surprisingly, I've seen very little collegiate sportswear (other than hats) at the Monroe, OH premium outlets. And next to nothing at the Under Armour outlet that has giant C-Paws in their window displays (which are great) but little if any UC clothing inside. I suspect that might be by design to protect pricing for the retail product sellers in the greater Cincinnati area.

If all else fails, both Rally House and UC Bookstore will have some great pop-up sales and will notify you by email if you register with them. Hope this helps.

Bookstore has a 25 percent off under armour sale going on now. Fanatics.com can be good place when they have a sale as well as Lids.

Rally House tends to a be on the high end side of gear. Under Armour, 47 Brand, and New Era are not cheap labels; however, they do carry Champion which occupies the low end on gear.

The bookstore tends to only Under Armour, Champion and League.

Eastgate? Be ready to see lots of tOSU and UK gear.

Not sure where you are coming from, but if you are over that way you'll find more selection at the Meijer and Kohl's on Beechmont Avenue.

There's a Meijer and Kohl on Beechmont? Never seen them.

You're right. I think there used to be a Meijer there... I think they shut that location down a while ago.

My greater point though is that the Eastgate selection is pretty limited IMO.

Kohl's in Milford (28) is all OSU. Meijer out here has some UC stuff, but quality is a bit sub-par.

If you're looking for toddler stuff, I'd buy secondhand. Goodwill is hit-or-miss, but little independent thrift shops have a surprising amount of used toddler sports team branded clothes.

Two months ago when I was back in Cincy I found an awesome UC jersey for my 4 year old with the 1990s C-paw on it. It was $1.50.

Last time I was at that Kohls (this summer) there was some UC stuff. But mostly OSU stuff. It's nuts - I've shopped there for 10 years and never seen anyone even browsing through the OSU stuff. You'd think someone at corporate would notice and switch to the hometown team.

They do, captain. They know what sells as their inventory software tells them.

Actually, not always. I had a friend took over a store in the Findlay area, and he had to lobby corporate management for months to get some OSU stuff into the store. For some reason corporate thought it wouldn't sell. They turned around in their opinions real quick after the stuff flew off the shelves.

For young kids also check out "Once Upon a Child" at several locations in Cincy. We have found like new UC gear for the grandson @ $2 - $5 per garment. Typically, they have a large size selection for UC, Reds and Bengals.

They may not add merchandise, but they won't continue to stock merchandise that doesn't sell. That's my point.
