He went to Mexico, in a rental car shortly after the shooting. He won't be around for the lawsuit testimony.

Tucker with a good point. Guy shot in the leg with a .556 round hops in his car a few days later and makes a 700 mile round trip driving? Guess he was shot in the left leg and has an incredible pain tolerance level, or drives really well on pain killers.

a lot of this article is way over the top imo...but it is the 1st place I have seen a close up of Paddock after he committed suicide and I do believe the gun running stuff.

Agreed about some being over the top. But this is the only guy claiming anything, so he gets some cred.

Man, MGM is trying realllly hard to avoid lawsuits. It seems almost scary how they are able to dictate the investigation.

It took me a while to figure out that it is MGM slow rolling the investigation.. But as near as I can tell MGM is behind the cover up/ botched investigation.

Money truly is the root of all evil.

Stephen Paddock’s girlfriend may be hiding something from investigators who are trying to piece together the motive behind the Las Vegas massacre, the city’s sheriff suggested in a wide-ranging interview with a local television station.

Marilou Danley, who is still a person of interest in the case, has told authorities that she never knew the attack was coming. Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, in his first TV appearance in nearly three weeks, told KLAS that investigators he’s spoken to believe this assessment is accurate, but for him personally, something appears to be off.

“There is a lot of people that have hundreds and hundreds of guns, but for this individual to do it at a certain point in time and to do it all with such robust action, you would think that Ms. Danley would have some information associated with that,” he said. “But currently we haven’t been able to pull that out of her, if it’s in her.”

No motive for the Oct. 1 shooting has been revealed yet, but Lombardo said that since September 2015, Paddock – a high-rolling gambler – had lost a significant amount of wealth.

“I think that might have a determining factor on what he determined to do,” Lombardo said.

The sheriff said Paddock was narcissistic, had some bouts of depression and was very status-driven, based on how he liked to be recognized in the casinos and by his family and friends, which was starting to decline.

LVPD said one officer discharged at least one bullet in Paddock's room, accidental.

FBI closer to drawing conclusion

A month into the investigation of why Stephen Paddock indiscriminately rained gunfire on thousands of concert attendees, killing 58 and injuring hundreds at the Route 91 Harvest festival, investigators maintain that there is “absolutely” no indication the gunman was ideologically driven or affiliated with any international or domestic terror or hate group.

“We do know a lot more (about Paddock) than when we started,” Rouse told the Las Vegas Sun Wednesday afternoon. “I feel like we are going in the correct direction to understand why this happened.”

Asked if investigators have pinpointed a possible motive, Rouse said he believes that, “When we’re done, we’ll have as close to an answer on the why as you’re going to be able to come to without talking with (Paddock).”

At one point more than 300 FBI personnel had been summoned, with hundreds more in rotation when the original group became fatigued. The FBI's Evidence Response Team "painstakingly" worked side by side with Metro's forensic investigators in a "very long and detailed effort" to measure and study the killing field.

"When they’re done with their final report, there will be — I think — as best representation forensically of what happened as you can possibly ask for,” Rouse said. And that information led investigators in "good directions."
