Now consider that a new stadium is going to bring you at least two super bowls. That's a pretty significant investment.

And just for the record, I am normally against tax payer money going to these sorts of projects.

But if they voted for it............?

It would have been even bigger if they did it with an old stadium.

They would have never gotten it with the old stadium. The NFL requires very specific accommodations the the Astro dome didn't have.

The SB used to be in San Diego every few years until the stadium was deemed “obsolete” by the NFL. The Chargers and the NFL wanted the city to foot the bill. City voted no. Chargers are now in LA playing in a soccer stadium, they can’t even fill, and waiting to be tenents in the Rams stadium.

That is the business. It sucks for San Diego but they didn't vote for a new stadium and so that's what happens.

Word is they wanted a Soccer specific stadium instead to attract an MLS team.

SD found the money for a baseball stadium though. Consequences. The SD owner was too poor to build his own stadium without taxpayers dollars, now he has to rent from the Rams.

On our last trip to NY for a Western basketball game we drove by Citi Field and was shocked. You have a billion dollar stadium on one side of the street. On the other it looks like you crossed over into a 3rd world country. Well I never been outside the USA so what I assume it would look like

You also have the tennis center there. It's Queens, its been like that for decades. The park is cool right there and you can hop on the subway and go Forest Park and get something to eat.
