RE: ESPN sleaze?
The "Washington doesn't get good time slots" thing baffles me for one HUGE reason:

No one is pointing the finger at UW's scheduling!??!?!

USC schedules Alabama...and Texas...plus a slew of other good OOC teams.

Washington, on the other hand, schedules garbage teams. Since 2013, they've scheduled Illinois and Rutgers as their Power 5 OOC foes. Coincidence that they chose the WORST two Big Ten teams? They did schedule Boise State in there, which was actually bolder than Illinois/Rutgers.

To Chris Peterson's defense, their atrocious schedule was made before he got there...when UW was still struggling with even getting to a bowl game. But he can't complain about his schedule, because that's one thing that has helped him bring the program back. Three cream puff wins in his first three seasons in Seattle gets him half way to a bowl.

If UW schedules solid or good P5 teams, they aren't getting the Pac-After-Dark time slots. I can't believe no one in the media pointed THAT out.

It would be like the NY Post not providing information on the Jets because the Giants advertise with them and the Jets only advertise on the NY Times.

1. Not true. ESPN is a distributor. It is not their job to provide information on competitors products. Does CBS provide listings for ABC programs? They may have a mutual agreement to do so. That doesn't make it mandatory.

2. Do we know when the information was made available to ESPN?

3. It would be perfectly acceptable for the Post to not publish Jets info if the Jets are intentionally boycotting the Post and supporting the Times.

I suppose it depends on how you look at it. On one hand, you're right, they are under no obligation to provide information for their competitor's products. On the other, the B1G is still a partner with ESPN for rights to televise football games. To provide promotion for a partner could be considered "good faith" and even help yourself in the long run by indirectly promoting your product.

It's a matter of perspective I guess.
