Two of my all time favorites. Gregg Allman and Tom Petty are gone now. Damn.

"Tom Petty was taken to a hospital Sunday night after he was found unconscious and not breathing, TMZ reports.

The 66-year-old singer and songwriter was rushed to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital from his Malibu home, suffering from a heart attack, according to TMZ. He was placed on life support but has been removed after he had no brain activity, TMZ reports."

Damn, this sucks. Loved Tom Petty. One the underrated, all-time greats.

I'm so glad we went to see him at the Forum this past May. His voice was as good as it ever was. RIP.

RE: RIP Tom Petty
One memory I have of Tom Petty was after the 9/11 attacks, there was a benefit concert on TV for the victims. I think it was on a Friday night and there were a lot of performers. Everyone was still in a state of shock. Most singers were singing sad songs or songs of peace. When it was Tom Petty's turn, he sang "I Won't Back Down." The defiance he exhibited in that song was memorable. Never has there been a more appropriate song sung at the right time.

RE: RIP Tom Petty
Wikipedia has updated their website and removed his deceased date. Further digging in shows he is still alive and clinging onto life.
