RE: 2018-19 Basketball scheduling / UC , Ohio St announce home and home
Only 60 players are drafted every year and half of them are from Europe. With the one-and-dones coming in that only leaves a few spots for Jacob to be drafted. He would have to have an all-american type season in my opinion to leave after this year. Which if that's the case then we would have had a great season so I'm fine with either outcome.

It's hard to speculate what the frontcourt will be like when Clark and Washington leave, but I actually think Brooks and Scott can be pretty good.
Of course, I can only base that on physical/athletic potential, as neither got to play any real meaningful minutes. Most will be eaten up by Washington and Clark again this year, but hopefully Mick gets them some burn too. With regard to Brooks, he has a soft touch, athleticism, the kind of body that makes it seem like there's a sequoia tree that sprouted legs on the floor. I think with enough dedication, he'd make an excellent defender and shotblocker.

Conversely, I think Tre Scott has the tools to be special. He seems more like a offensive/flow player rather than a defensive lane clogger, but I think in the post-Clark/Washington years this will become a run and gun team unless they bring in some defensive specialists quickly.

Evans leaving early and the sudden (to my knowledge) interest in the OK St. decommit may not be unrelated.

Good point, as the current roster doesn't scream for a need at SF.

Kudos to Bohn and the OSU administration! This is an incredible opportunity that we can only hope becomes a regular home-and-home series moving forward. For now, we'll take what we can get.

Yep, hope OSU sees value in extending this series beyond 2 years. Cronins statement about Holtman and OSU administration was classy; hopefully we can provide a really intimidating and enthusiastic but respectful home environment that they're comfortable returning to.

With OSU, UCLA, X, plus conference opponents like Witchita, SMU, UCONN 18-19 could potentially be the best home schedule we've ever had depending on how some of these teams look for 18-19. The OSU game is incredibly significant regardless because of such a significant history of two top 20 all time programs who never play each other. UCLA is the winningest program of all time in terms of titles. Going to be easy work for ticket sales that year.

If that were the case we'd be in the NCAA championship conversation.
If it is the case, how I'd like to see this team take the floor now instead of next month.
Man, a banner year in basketball would make the rest of the crappy sports reality surrounding Ohio seem bearable.
Like a bright shining star; in the sea of deep, black, sad, abyss that our current football season resides in.
Then again, I could be still just be ticked about the Marshall game.

Good recruits beget more of the same. If Broome & Evans turn out to be as good as advertised, Mick will be in a better position to reload than ever, especially with the FBI putting a damper on the corrupt practices that Mick eschews.

Broome would have to be like NOPY level good of he were to be one and done, with his slim build and height. Tyler Ullis was a 1st team AA and left after his sophomore year, do get picked in the 2nd round.

Broome is also 6'1 and Ullis is 5'8. Broome has a much more Steph Curry type build (not to compare their games at all) than a Ullis type. If anything, Jennifer is built more like Ullis. Ullis just isn't big enough to play in the league consistently.
Chris Paul is 6', Lilliard claims to be 6'3, Irving is 6'3, Wall is 6'4, Conley is 6'1, Lowry is 6'0, Thomas is 5'8, Kemba is 6'1.
I'd say he is right within the range height wise to play in the league. Maybe a little small compared to your more explosive guys like Wall or Westbrook, but if he can run an offense at an NBA level he could definitely play. I think the bigger issue though is his age. He will turn 23 a few weeks into the season as a junior. He has a limited number of years to make money playing ball and Europe might be a preferred option for him.

My expectations for 1st year transfer players is not super high. Been burned too many times by the "nobody can guard him in practice" during the transfer year mantra.
