Kent State - Homecoming Game
Ticket Promo for the Kent game. Figured it was worth a post. I would assume NIU will be a heavy favorite heading into this one.

RE: Kent State - Homecoming Game
Interesting speculation here as well as MAC play is about to begin.
"Offense is where there are many questions, first and foremost who is this team’s quarterback. We’ll find out (probably) Tuesday at the team’s news conference, and if I were a betting man I’d say, if healthy, Ryan Graham will be back under center in the spot he won coming out of camp."

No way. Not even Carey would be that stupid. The team is coming off 2 incredible performances, not even Carey is dumb enough to eff this one up

I'll bet he could....without even trying too hard. It would surprise me - but not shock me - to see Graham back at QB.

I said before that while Carey is stubborn regarding personnel, he is not stupid and would not put Graham back in as the starting QB, and said I hope I don't have to eat my words. I just said in another thread that Carey has learned from his mistakes; if he goes with Graham as the starting QB he has not learned near enough!
Let's hope this is just idle speculation.

I don't think that guy knows ANYTHING. Certainly less than most of us on this board.

Santa is light years better than Graham. I will be physically sick if after driving all the way from Columbus for homecoming they start Graham.

RE: Kent State - Homecoming Game
NIU opened as 24 point favorites. It'll be interesting to see how that changes if there is a QB change announced before the game.
Carey may not announce it and let Graham walk onto the field at game time.

Carey should be fired on the spot if a change is made now

It'd be nice if all the alums who came out of the woodwork after the Nebraska game saying how proud they were of Huskie football to actually show it by coming to Huskie Stadium this weekend.

It still irks me that we had a huge crowd of NIU at Northwestern in 2014, but we can't draw nearly as many fans to DeKalb. It's not as if Barb City is in the Dakota Territory. Tickets are cheaper and traffic better too at NIU games.

Blow them out early so we can see Childers for most of the second half.

I just wonder if most fans have made the judgment that the stakes are not high enough for MAC play. NIU has fortunately wore out attendance in Detroit. Most realize that unless you are talking about an undefeated team, flawless MAC performance gives you a crap bowl game, and to even make this worse, the best MAC team is not even assured the best crappy bowl. A playoff system allowing access for MAC champ would skyrocket attendance

Let's say Chicago-Dekalb is 75 minutes with little to no traffic by the time you get out of the city, etc. With the amount of events going on in the city, it's incredibly difficult to convince people to head out to Dekalb. There isn't a ton of stuff to do in the Dekalb area after the game unless you're drinking at Fatty's or Molly's...so most people would head directly back to the city afterward. Weeknight games aren't an option because traffic is terrible. Weekend games are...but when you are playing EIU and other MAC teams it's a tough sell. For anyone between the ages of 21-30 it's more convenient to just stay downtown, go to a bar with your B1G alumni friends, and possibly watch the game on TV if you even follow the team at all. I don't want to turn this into the 150th attendance/marketing thread but oh well.
Anyone know if Carey got asked about the QB situation on the radio show yesterday?

The weekly press conference is going on now. Sounds like no change this week.

Yeah he does the radio show with Bill Baker on Mondays though. Either way, he said Graham started throwing again but still isn't ready to play. Definitely Santa this week.

RE: Kent State - Homecoming Game
Did he leave the door open for Graham to come back after Homecoming, or was it the usual day-to-day crap? We all know that Santa is the better QB, looks to be getting better with experience, and the offense is gelling around him. To pull him for Graham would be a crime and a major insult to the team and fans.
