VERY happy to admit being wrong on this one (i realize you weren’t talking to me). i picked NC State waaay back last year (and was probably mocked at the time for predicting FCS —> P5, but i honestly don’t remember) as the job i’m most concerned Houston would take. i still stand by my prediction that he will stay at JMU for at least 3 seasons, for a few reasons.

I think so as well, but that's simply a gut feeling. However, I believe his next move is to a G5 who's got a good program in place. What I fear is coaches following him from JMU. He knows what has been put together will be difficult to assemble again.

i would bet money he won’t go to a G5. you’re right that we will lose some coaches, though. that will suck. but we are such an attractive job that we’ll have great candidates, as usual. and we’ve hired 3 straight coaches with defensive backgrounds, but i don’t know if that’s a coincidence (and Withers was an atrocious defensive coach).

No doubt. The AD, Debbie Yow, is retiring next year. Even if State poops the bed and loses a couple of WTF games, she ain’t firing him now. My new concern is Clawson getting taken away from Wake and Houston getting the call from Winston-Salem. I don’t see Houston leaving us for App State.
