less eyes lower amount of dollars paid for each 30 second or minute spot. You might still be #1 but the NFL gets top dollars because they reach the people the ad is after and more of them. I'm sure I could find the answer to if my common sense is correct or not but I will wait for someone smarter than I am to just tell me.

4 people is greater than 2 and 6 greater than 4 and 8 greater than 6 and 8 million is greater than 4 million. So at some point if I was buying ad space I'm going to ask for a discounted rate.
Yep. Not sure what all the ******* snide remarks are about. Less is less in terms of eyeballs and $$$.

As I have said before. The NFL should just tell them to stay in their locker rooms

You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Then I guess you are just going to have to get used to protests happening.

And I guess the NFL better hope that they can find replacement fans among you leftists.

I can't believe true football fans will abandon the sport in great numbers over this.

You guys are giving Colin K. too much credit.

You might be wrong. I haven't watched a game in 2 weeks and don't miss it at all.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that's bull, unless you can source it. NFL players have a lower arrest rate than the national average. http://nflarrest.com/NFLArrestRate.php

LOL. Next time you complain about “fake news”, remember you are part of the problem. 100%, complete and utter bull****. Just because someone creates a meme to fit a narrative you like, doesn’t mean you should accept it as fact. Pathetic.

Note that it is 25-29 and much of their arrest record is prior to that. At that point, they can buy their way out.

And other than DUI, the arrest record of people 25-29 making over 100k a year is pretty minimal.

If you haven't watched football in two weeks and you don't miss it then you ain't a true football fan.

BTW for those of you that didn't see it, you missed a great game last night and I'm pretty sure it was a sell out.

So much for the boycott.

You might have a point there. The casual fan such as many in this forum could in fact impact their bottom line.

I still think there is enough hardcore fans such as myself that will keep the sport as one of the top four most popular sports in the country.

IMHO yes. You have to really know your teams and players if you want to be successful gambler and fantasy player.

And I could be mistaken but it was fantasy football and the money involved that drove te NFL to king of the land.

That is 870 total arrests since 2000. Vast majority of those were misdemeanors.

Meme claimed 871 players in the NFL right now are convicted felons.

Sad that anyone could fall for such a ridiculous lie.

I'm sure to some extent yes. However, I think the majority of these people were already football fans.

(10-01-2017 10:03 PM)Side Show Joe Wrote:  TV by the Numbers regularly posts ratings for television. The agenda driven media won't tell the whole story of just how angry people are and the real effect it is having on the NFL. So here are some of the actual ratings numbers.

Thursday Night Football
Sept. 14th- 8.08 million total viewers with a 3.1 share
Sept. 21st- 7.45 million total viewers with a 2.8 share
Sept. 28th- 3.91 million total viewers with a 1.5 share

Basically the NFL's Thursday Night Game has lost half of its' viewers in two week.

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/tag/thu...l-ratings/

I'll look up Sunday's and Monday Night Football's numbers later.

Guys, if you're looking for the left to defend the NFL, you're looking in the wrong place. I certainly support the players right to condemn racism, but the NFL is a homophobic leech that has a business model based upon forcing mainly liberal non-NFL viewers to pay for the vast majority of their teams through 'must take' cable contracts, bonds for giveaways borne mainly by urban residents, and outright giveaways.

I'd just assume that sports, including high school and college sports, pay their own way through completely voluntary contributions by their fans.
