But right now, it does not look like the Big12 will be able to fill their spot. Texas, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, and Iowa State all look like they have a good chance to finish the season under .500. And as of right now, Oklahoma seems on track to make the playoff.

Do we get that spot back if the Big12 can't fill it?

All bowl eligible teams will be picked up before any ineligible teams can be considered. But I don't think we are listed as a backup for that particular bowl this year. So they could take a 6th 7th place ACC team, as an example, instead of us, but it will leave a slot open somewhere for our guys. I expect coming soon will be 5-7 P5 teams can be taken over 6-6 G5 teams. Seems like the natural progression of their greed.

Oh Charlotte IS going bowling! They don't deserve to but I'm sure they'll make a visit this December:

UAB has a good schedule for getting to 6-6 this year.

If MTSU doesn't get Stockstill back in 2 weeks I think it's a good chance. Probably be the weakest 6-6 team though by schedule.

2-2 right now

LT (loss)
MTSU (tossup)
@Charlotte (win)
@USM (winnable, but lower chance)
Rice (win)
@UTSA (loss)
@Florida (loss)
UTEP (win)

3 probable wins, 2 tossups, 3 probable losses

Bull chit. WKU will go bowling.
.
If they lose at UTEP they won't.

That's just silly talk. Seriously.....now you're talking like a little girl who knows nothing about football. WKU is not going to lose to UTEP. WKU will beat UTEP by 30+ points.

Have a little faith. 07-coffee3

If UAB gets to 6 wins, they're the biggest lock of any G5 for a bowl bid in the South. ESPN loves them a feel good story like the program that came back to life.

Not very likely that any team gets left out if it gets to 6-6 this year. 76 teams are currently projected to finish 6-6 or better, so a projected 6-7 BYU team would be team #77, and one team from the 5-7 APR list would also make it as team #78.

Current projection for C-USA is for 8 teams to make it--Tech, UTSA, UNT, and USM from the West; Marshall, WKU, FAU, and MT from the East. UAB and ODU are both projected one win away, but that could easily change.

That's the way it should always be. I don't see us winning out but I can see us winning 6 of the last 8 and ending up 9-3 and have a shot at a 10 win season with a bowl game and win.

That would make one hellava story line. Best of luck.
