I wonder where UTSA would be if they had hired Bailiff when the allegedly expressed interest back in January 2016? And where would Rice be if he had left? Guessing Rice would be no worse since there isn't much downward movement possible.

Are these your own rankings? Bill Connelly's latest S&P+ puts us dead last in FBS, one spot behind UTEP and below three FCS teams (though he doesn't list which ones).

Yes, it's my system. I've had this system for 30+ years. It's part of the Massey Combined Computer Rankings. Rice defeated a winless UTEP in El Paso. Any system that has UTEP ahead of Rice (or ahead of anyone, for that matter) is bogus.

Massey's personal ratings now have Rice with no better than a 39% chance of winning any remaining game, and that's the one at UAB. The best chance at home is the last one, against UNT, at 35%. Homecoming (USM) has fallen to 28%.

And that's despite the highest ranked remaining team only coming in at 75 (in Division 1). Remaining expected wins is down to 1.62 (from 1.76 last week, if I recall - and Pittsburgh added almost nothing to that total going into the game).

6 of 14 in C-USA are in the bottom quartile. Rice has 3 of the other 5 on the schedule.
