That's the biggest problem you dims face. You don't have anybody even halfway competent.

The Dem's biggest question for 2020 is whether to run a fire-breathing Bernie type or go with a moderate/centrist.

I still believe that if Biden ran in 2016, he'd be the current sitting president. He's got a blue collar perception and would've kept the rust belt.

I wonder if he will run in 2020.

I say what the hell. By then we likely won't have much left to lose.

Most of the Democrats have been reasonably restrained with their anti-gun crusade trying to take advantage of the Vegas tragedy, Hillary and a few others, of course, excluded. They will go 100% TDS on Puerto Rico again. But, as the article shows, they are making significant progress. And none of the TDS Democrats have any ideas on how he could have done anything different.

RE: Hypocritical San Juan mayor
The senators and congressmen that are in the rust belt like Ohio would buck the Democrats big time. They are bucking Schumer and Pelosi. They are going around them to actually work with Republicans for a Bipartisan bills which would be big wins for Trump. The Republicans are doing the same thing going against Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Those are the leaders that the voters want. The polls for the leaders of those 4 are unfavorable.

As people said, the mayor of San Juan was talking about the issues of remote areas of the island where electricity, phone and roads have been taken out. Death toll in those areas could go even higher. I do not think the mayor was a hypocritical, but she was pointing out those areas. She sent aid to those areas that FEMA have not reached yet.

She has a lot of free time for herself.

She also wore high heels at the FEMA meeting.

Sounds like she didn't do everything (much less anything) in her power to help her city prepare, weather and recover from the disaster and instead decided to use the disaster opportunity to score political points. Must be an Alinskyite.

Actual response belies critics.

"...Never mind her 24 percent approval rating among constituents or her obnoxious support for convicted anti-American terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera, Mayor Cruz’s anti-Trump tirades and strange T-shirts claiming Puerto Ricans are literally dying because of our president were enough to endear her to most media. ..."

"As the Democratic Gov. Ricardo Rossello told Fox Business Channel host  Maria Bartiromo, “The president and the administration, every time we’ve asked them to execute, they’ve executed quickly.”  Similar praise emanated from U.S. Virgin Islands Gov.  Kenneth Mapp, who told Trump directly: “Because of your commitment, Mr. President, we’re talking about opening schools and welcoming cruise ships back....”"
