Coastal will get the ball back with 30 seconds left and down by 2.

Not the classiest move scoring a touchdown on the fumble after the game expired... But whatever. And Keane got hurt on the last play. SO. Thrasher is injured on the first play and Keane is hurt on the last. This whole season is a joke. We can't keep a QB.

Make no mistake about it....as bad as the QB situation is right now, yet AGAIN our ****** effing secondary is the reason we lost.

Our secondary is just so unbelievably bad. Matthews must go. It will never improve until he's gone. He never should have been hired to begin with.

Crazy game. After four games now, I'd say the low end win projections look like a good bet. However, from what I've seen thus far, conference wide, we are just some personnel depth/quality away from mediocre Sun Belt at worst. It'll come. If we had a threat at QB, (other than a QB facing ULM secondary), and weren't losing the turnover battle every. single. game... It'd be interesting.

Congrats ULM. Glad to see our guys didn't give up on this one. We'll see you next year in Conway.

If you’re trying to score and toss the ball back trying to score you can’t get mad if the players pick up the ball and score.

ULM's secondary might be just as bad as ours.

We’re out 3 starters and CB has separated shoulder.

Good game Coastal. You guys will be a factor very soon. I thought we should have fallen on the ball and downed it too, but I’m sure the player saw the ball, got excited, scooped and ran it in. If we would have been on O and run it in would definitely be different, but I actually thought the same thing and was gollering for him to get down. Anyway, good luck the rest of the year.

I don't have a problem with it. As a defender you don't get many chances to score a TD. I'd give it a scoop myself.

Pretty good game. Not a lot of defense, but it was hard fought. A lot better than I was expecting.

I saw a new QB a lot for you guys. Are y’all going the JUCO route for QB or what going to happen.
Our defense lost 3 DB starters, then in game starting CB hurt his shoulder and Best DT missed the game. We’re playijg 4 true freshman on defense. If our offense doesn’t score it’s going to get rough for us. I posted from the beginning the game would be close.

Not really. He recruited a lot of "Athletes", and QBs after last years fiasco. We went through 8 QBs last year, and ended up using our 1st Baseman from the National Championship team, because he still had eligibility. We have a pretty decent Pro Style quarterback in our recruiting class, and with the way it is going will start day 1 for us.

Part of it is probably the change in offense but it is concerning that we have to play musical quarterbacks the second year in a row.

We have a grad transfer from Syracuse but doesn't appear that he's close to sniffing the field. Another grad transfer is playing but usually only in running situations. We have a JuCo transfer Anderson who is a dual threat QB but has been hurt but may be cleared this week.

What happened to Stilley? He started the first three games last year before injury.

We also have true freshman Harper, another dual threat - I haven't heard how he's doing in practice but I'm sure they want to keep his redshirt as long as possible.

I could see us bringing in a JuCO QB or two for next year.

RE: GAME THREAD: ULM vs CCU
If thrasher just has an MCL sprain, he could be back within 3-4 weeks. At very least he will be good to go next year as a redshirt junior. Hypothetically he has two more years to be our guy IF he can avoid a fourth injury, which at this point seems impossible. But if there are any QB recruits in future who are thinking about playing somewhere else because we've already signed a 3 star QB for this class, they should give us a good luck. With our luck we could have Lamar Jackson and he'd break a clavicle in August.

RE: GAME THREAD: ULM vs CCU
Thrasher's dad just posted this on CoastalFans. Sounds like his situation isn't quite as bad as we thought and he may very well get to finish out a strong career after all.

Thank you for your words about Chance! I heard about this forum and have been reading. And to clarify a lot of concerns. He hasn’t had two shoulder surgeries. He was having pain in his throwing arm his freshman year and since the plan was to redshirt they did exploratory surgery and found bone chips from a broken clavicle. They thought that fixed the problem. Then preparing for last season his arm went dead. They did testing and realized he had Thoracic outlet syndrome which is common with athletes who throw a lot and they removed his first rib. He is now stronger than he has ever been.

The reason I share this. Is because there is no concern over his throwing arm!! The concern earlier in the year is it takes 12 to 16 months for full recovery from the surgery. That’s why they had him play defense in the Spring because Chance wanted to contribute to the team any way he could. He worked real hard and recovered faster than anticipated.

Last nights injury happened while he was dragging several defenders another player hit his knee and sprained his MCL. He’s feeling sore today. And fingers crossed he will be back on the field soon. I have a lot pride and confidence in him
Thanks again
