I hate to say it, but I think both of these teams made bad head coaching hires.

How can he keep Marchi as starter. He slides short of a first down, almost did it twice. Terrible decision maker. Over throws all the time. Lets see next guy up at QB. This is going to be a long season.

Good luck Houston.

Wow. That was one of the most bone-headed plays I have ever seen.

Then the Houston player makes an interception with 0 on the clock and decides to take a victory lap holding the ball like a loaf of bread and nearly gets stripped. Hilarious.

Good game, Houston. Thanks for making Temple feel like we have a Division 1 football program again. That was very kind of you.

I knew that as soon as the AD decided he disnt care about winning and only cared more about finding a coach that would be here long term, it was over. Applewhite just further confirmed that, he should not have even sniffed an interview for an HC job.

The sad thing is this will probably destroy all the momentum this program has built and set us back a decade. Even worse this will probably cause us to never get into a real conference and may cuase us to fade away into obscurity.

Well what the hell, why not just fold up the football team and close down the university while you're at it? 03-idea

I would settle for Westhoff taking a hiatus from this board. 03-lmfao

I almost wish we could. It would be better than seeing this team embarass themselves while pretending they play football.

I agree good win Houston. But unfortunately the coaching staff will say we made progress and decide what they're doing is working and not adjust.

The players played hard and earned it. But the OC and Applewhite took the air out of the ball. I can't recall any downfield throws after the first drive of the 2nd half.

Congrats D for holding on. O is making them work WAAAaAAAY too hard.

westhoff, it's not all gloom and doom, actually it's looking better than a lot of other teams, I want to go on record here and tell you that your over the top negative posts are so tiresome, is there anyway you can tone it down a bit, your posts even have fans from others schools getting tired of all your constant redundant negative posts, it's great that you are a cougar fan, but come on man...

I agree that we've probably just seen the official ordination of Marchi as the 2017 starter. I personally would love to see anyone under center but him. And I mean anybody.

Despite Westhoff's unhinged rants, I don't think we should be calling for Applewhite's head just yet. The defense is pretty good, if not great.

The offense is a train wreck. Screen pass left, screen pass right, QB draw is not Houston football. Postma wasn't the convenient answer everyone was looking for.

So we shouldn’t blame our head coach who was also our oc for this disaster on offense? Got it guess it’s nobody’s fault then.

How does this team look good to you at all? We literally should be 1-3 right now but this defense has managed to win us games in spite of applewhites coaching.

As far as negative posts thats just who i am. I tell it like it is and the coogs suck this year.

Do I need to remind you what we won and who all we beat (and had no business beating, given the talent disparity) with him as OC of this disaster of an offense?

Do i need to remind you herman mentioned multiple times overruling applewhite on offense becuase he didn’t agree with the play calling? It wasn’t applewhite that won us those games.
