We demand that Cornell Admissions to come up with a plan to actively increase the presence of
underrepresented Black students on this campus. We define underrepresented Black students as
Black Americans who have several generations (more than two) in this country. The Black student population at Cornell disproportionately represents international or
first-generation African or Caribbean students. While these students have a right to flourish at
Cornell, there is a lack of investment in Black students whose families were affected directly by

The corporation formerly worked for had a substantial number of African and Caribbean derived 1st generation black Americans who all benefitted from the % that were to be filled by black Americans. They seemed to be fast risers as they didn't see a bogieman hiding behind every imaginable action, while too many of the American born blacks were so certain that almost every corporate action was out to get them. The students born of those recent immigrants almost always got in colleges of status. The black culture in this country has been telling those Americans for generations that there is massive discrimination, but foreign born blacks just plow ahead anyway. At this corporation it was rare for a native black to not come a two parent family, as single parent blacks simply didnt qualify for jobs there.so there were already a small fraction of the black population.
There was a black employee advocacy group there too, but 1ST generation black employees almost always didn't waste their time, energy and effort in that grievance organization. To me, some of the worst performers seemed to be ring leaders in that organization.

For the Jewish population in Europe, I'm using the years 1930 and 1950, even though the death-camps ended in 1945.
For the black population in the US, the years 1780 and 1870 are my two data-points. The 1870 # of ~4,880,000 is directly from the US Census of that year. The 1780 # of ~566,000 is an estimate that I've seen in a couple of places, but I admit I don't know how reliable that is.
