I just hope they want a good honest coach like Tubby.

I hear he is looking to get out of town.

He's already followed Pitino once before, and it didn't work out well for him.

Wow, some serious cash at play here:

$44,454,125: What is left on Rick Pitino's contract with Louisville, including bonuses, as of today. Expect him to fight for it.

No surprise. He has been a lying prick, denying everything from the time he started out at Hawaii. It is going to be Lance Armstrong level fun seeing this drag on and on until Pitino is completely broken.

Yep, he's going to deny, deny, deny any knowledge of this, and unless there's some sort of out in the contract, which I doubt there is, Louisville is really screwed. It doesn't help that they have given him passes before either, can they really say with a straight face that now, suddenly, he's guilty of some sort of moral turpitude that would allow them to void the contract.

My guess is that Pitino will walk a rich man, his reputation battered and beaten, but I am guessing that they won't be able to prove he was in on the scheme so he won't face any charges, even though we all know he probably was.

And disappear with his millions and mansion and fame and color analyst job and speaking fees and book deal.

He was already a rich man. Coaching couldn’t have been about the money. Between Kentucky, the Knicks, Celtics, Louisville, endorsements, speaking, and TV, Pitino has made tens of millions of dollars. If he doesn’t get another dollar out of Louisville, he is likely already set. But he lives for coaching... he’s 65 years old, won’t be able to get another high level job (he can get a SMU type of course), and he’ll have to stand pat on his current records. All the while seeing John Calipari grinning on ESPN after victories.

They don't have to prove anything but they will. He is responsible. He's done.

He won his only championship.

Following Pitino was the best thing to ever happen to Tubby.

People thought he could coach because of it.

Sure, all those SEC championships, Catlanta era ...... undefeated season.... could have been done by anybody. Tubby just took advantage of Pitino's name for 10 years. You guys are unbelievable. At least wait for a couple of years to see what he can do before hitting him with posts like this.
Many of us here in MN still love him for all the fun time he provided for us. We still talk about the players that he brought from Memphis. Those HOF coaches are now scared to death to wait for their turn in this investigation. Tubby will be praised for many years to come for running clean programs and even putting up with fans like you.

Go Tigers

It didn't seem ambiguous at the time, but I was speaking of Louisville hiring Tubby as a new coach.
