I still want to find out what the coaching search committee found on Buzz that they didn't like... Wonder if it had any similarities to the findings of this investigation? Probably not, though. Its likely the school just didn't want to pay what Buzz was asking.

450 is suspended for the first half of the Lemoyne Owen game. It's harsh but had to be done.

Sad day, but I support this.

I stand behind my desire to hire Pearl.

It’s not the cheating, it’s the sucking I look at angrily.

450, say it isn't so. How could you?

Any coach who secretly records a 17 year old recruit - as then Iowa assistant coach Pearl did to Deon Thomas when Thomas committed to Illinois - so that coach can turn in the school who beat him for that recruit, is a special kind of scumbag. Nothing Pearl does would surprise me.

Well, maybe he'll bring Calipari down with him?

Buzz wanted full control of the MBB program, sort of like Pitino has/had at UL

The JD & FBI both say they are waiting for others "to come forward" before it's too late.

When it was happening Parrish said Buzz wanted complete control and that was the reason he wasn't hired.

I like Buzz and he’s very characteristic. Gets his guys pumped up, but as I said several months ago, he’s not exactly tearing it up at VT.

My attorney advised me to appeal the LO first half suspension...I'm declining that appeal process for the betterment of the fine people here and will serve this penalty with great sadness on Pearl's boat in the wolf river with that chick he was pictured with a few years ago...Candy Slice I think was her name

He went S16, S16, E8 with two regular season Big East conference championships his last three years at Marquette.

During his three years at VT he's significantly improved every year:

2014–15
Virginia Tech 11–22 2–16 (15th in ACC)

2015–16
Virginia Tech 20–15 10–8 (T–7th in ACC) NIT Second Round

2016–17
Virginia Tech 22–11 10–8 (T–7th in ACC) NCAA First Round

I'm not saying it happened, but lets say the search committee finds something they don't like about Buzz, could be personal, could be the way he does his job, could be that he likes ketchup on his hot dogs.... Do you think GP would really tell the real reason Memphis passed on him? Or would he say 'Buzz wanted complete control that Memphis wouldn't relenquish'?

RE: Hate to be Auburn
Though I was adamantly against the Pearl hiring, I understood the reasons people wanted him. Having a winning program while maintaining integrity is incredibly difficult in the cesspool of college basketball recruiting. Lots of people (i.e. coaches, families, shoe companies) looking to cash in on a young person's talents.

While I love winning as much as anyone, I still hold on to the belief that athletic programs are a symbol of university indicating the values of those affiliated with the institution. I know this may seem like anachronistic viewpoint, but I still believe in the concept of a student athlete and the responsibility of athletic programs to positively influence young people's lives.

Hope Tubby is able to bring more wins while maintaining a positive culture. GTG!!!

I'd like to see North Carolina and Kentucky get some of this on them and Duke too while we're at it.........

Doesn't matter if Pearl knew. NCAA rule change holds the head coach responsible if any violations are found.

Our program is already in the toilet from Pastner. Tubby is about to flush. I'm probably taking way more joy than I should reveling in the mess in Louisville as I love seeing their program burn to the ground. Now, I just hope the fire spreads down the road to Lexington to see Calipari's career end in shame.

Sure you do. The investigations started in 2015. They are going to be nailing a bunch of programs. They aren't going to go back 9 years.

What Buzz did at Marquette was awesome. He’s yet to do it at VT. He hasn’t done poorly but like I said, he isn’t tearing it up either. Let’s see what Tubby does over the next two seasons.
