A few people have a legit beef but many, as frustrating as it seems, need to find another way, especially those with light or essentially no damage.

People will complain about anything, even about a CHARITY trying to help them out.

It depends VA... If they're keeping excessive money for "administrative costs" instead of using to obtain supplies to give out, then I can see the reason for complaining about a charity.

It was an issue I had with the Salvation Army at one point.. it a lot of theirmoney taken in was used for administrative costs. (Although I think they've corrected that in recent years).

just look at some of the Charity Watch figures

But people say that the government should not be that involved and in times of need, charities are better for people to deal with. No taxes and money raised voluntarily instead of forcefully through tax filings. Really shows the spirit of the people unlike taxes or what government workers can do.

Now, charities should not be relied upon and "other" entities should instead be used?

In my experience you are much, much better off depending on the Red Cross and other charities than you are the federal government.

Or your friends and neighbors. Takes away the middle man in general with questions over where the resources are going.
