Charlotte beat UAB. We can't overlook anyone. But if we can knock off UNT, we still have a fair chance at 6-6. Not that I expect it, but we looked better this week and they didn't.

Its interesting as the season progresses to see that the teams that kicked the crap out of us, aside from the Tarholes, are really good. We aren't very good, but maybe we were never as bad as we thought either, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
FAU's season is incredible to me. I don't think anybody would have said Lane Kiffin is a great coach coming into this season, but he has maybe made the biggest difference I have ever seen a coach make from one season to the next. Is the gap between the talent of P5 coaches and G5 coaches that wide? Its mind boggling to me.

Don't forget he brought in a half-dozen P5 transfers, too.
I'd also argue that anyone who's spent time coaching at Alabama is probably at the top of the curve regarding the talent difference.

I could be wrong, but didn't think a lot of those P5 guys are really contributing this year.
He has also been terrible as a head coach at the p5 level and Alabama's offense looks a lot better without him this year. I would say he is probably a bright offensive mind, but as far as weighing all the things it takes to be a great coach, I don't think he is near the top of p5 coaches. That is why he's coaching at FAU right now.

Worth noting that with Charlotte's win today, ODU has sole possession of last place in the East

FAU had a ton of returning talent including 2 stud RBs and an experienced QB. They were primed to be improved even with all the transfers/recruits with baggage.

We need to find a way to identify and recruit some of these grad transfers from P5 schools.

And find a way to pay a $1 million dollars for a coach. The Cox bill may have made that an impossibility.

Do we want the "dismissed for undisclosed violation of team rules" types?
And on a different note, although I think he's injured right now DeAndre Woods transferred from Vandy (I know I know, Vandy is BARELY P5), and I thought was decently regarded prior to the season. Am I wrong there?

Wish we could have said the same about our recruiting. Oh but everyone here says stars don't matter and BW knows how to evaluate talent. Last place in the EAST...nah the sky is not falling ! Now we travel half way across country to get our ass kicked by a pissed of UNT team. The lost to FAU spoke volumes about the state of the program.

MBB--
Serious question:
Aside from 'recruit better kids', which of your suggestions would you like the coaching staff to implement in order to elevate the recruiting aspect of the program?

Why are you here? Are you even an ODU fan? Do you even like ODU? Did your football career stall early or something? You have got to be the most bitter poster on this board.

I can handle dissent. His dissent goes deeper than differing opinions. It's personal with ODU. He's a got bone to pick.
